Yea I was planning to put something over it cause the glossy finish shows too many finger prints.

Here's a copy and paste of the post I made on DJ Forums about this mixer: -

Unboxing and first impressions

The mixer comes with everything you'll need in the box, except the software. It comes with a registration card for the Traktor Scratch Pro software and on that is a link where you can download the installer for either Windows or OS X. I'm in the UK and my mixer came with separate power leads for both European and UK plug types.

The mixer feels weighty and is well built, in fact, the build quality is better than I expected given the price (

They said they are getting some complaints about this and if enough people do not like it they will address it in a future version of Traktor. All in all this mixer is really nice but the fact that they neuter Traktors gain structure is a bit odd to say the least.

Anyone else irked by the fact that master out in traktor is greyed out when Z2 plugged in? I am used to running traktor at -6db and my tracks are gained to this structure. With traktor at 0.0 the output is too hot and its all up in the red.

I just picked on of these up. I gotta say its really on point. I came from a DJM 707 which has an excellent xfader in it and I feel that this fader is actually smoother feeling. No problem doing any sort of scratching with this fader. The up faders are a little tight but otherwise they feel excellent. I have no issues with the faders calibration.

Now where the mixer really shines is how well laid out the mixer is. I actually prefer the simplified effects layout of just two knobs vs the four you find on a x1. I play hip hop and am light on effects so if you rely on them then this mixer may not be the best choice for you.

The visual feedback from the cue pads is great... at a quick glance you know what cue you are working with and what type of cue it is. I also really appreciate having quick access to the filter and the gain knobs without having to access any type of modifier.

The build is very nice. It's heavy and feels substantial. It's larger than my 707 was in every dimension but i believe it helps with not making the mixer feel cluttered. It does barely fit inside of my marathon flight case though.

Overall if you are a Traktor DVS user I believe this is a great choice and really deserves serious consideration.

Nice write up. I'm a little concerned with the pots as well. The X1 pots are plastic and they seem to be doing very well after a couple of years if that's any indication. They do get less use than EQ's though so we'll still have to wait and see.

I like the stiffer faders. i can do the same thing with looser faders, but the stiffer faders are better for me.

You open the Z2, you void the warranty. That said I have heard that full size innofaders will fit.

Just received mine. Very well built, the crossfader is excellent very comparable to an Innofader. The line faders are fine for blending but certainly not for scratching. All in all a very good mixer for basic Traktor duties and no more cables everywhere with the integrated soundcard!

When I am blending into a track for me at least it makes for a smoother transition. I dont really scratch with the line fader, if I do its a wam bam get outta there kind of scratch.

I also bought an Innofader Pro, so I'm going to put that in as the crossfader, then I'll use the original crossfader as one of the line faders and buy another loose mini Innofader (when they're available) for the other line fader.
I actually preferred the faders to have a weighed down feel to them, makes for a smooth transition if you are using the line faders to blend tracks. I keep my cross fader at the sharpest cut since I scratch and use lines to mix/blend.

The 8 gigs of RAM masked any issues I was having. Still going to go through and clean my laptop up though.

There is a button for calibrating the fader, but there's no switch to adjust the tension.
