Whats your dream Dj Setup?
Posted on: 25.10.2010 by Candy Vardy
Hey guys, well I thought I would make this thread out of curiousity. If you could have any kind of Dj setup no limit in how much $$$ what would you want? For me I dont believe you need a huge expensive setup to be "set" just the good old regular stuff, but going large. Well I would want:

Macbook Pro 15"
2 X Pioneer CDJ 2000's
Pioneer DJM 800
NI Maschine
NI Kontrol X1
Sennheiser Hd 25 ii

= SET!!

Total $$$ = $7860.00 :eek:

Man I believe I've got a hell of alot of saving to do before I get any of that! I just gotta keep dreaming until then, lol. So whars your's guys?

Dream DJ setup? Hmm....I have actually thought long and hard about this. I have the laptop and an APC 40. But I would probably do a mixer, and some kind of control surface to go along with it. I am believeing...
-Thinkpad(already own)
-Allen and Heath Xone 92~or~XoneDB4~or~Xone4D
-Native Instruments Audio 10(not needed with DB4 or 4D)
-Traktor 2
-Ableton Live(to trigger more loops and such)
-keep my APC 40
-Maschine
-Native Instruments X1(x2)(take out with Xone 4D)
-Pioneer EFX 1000(take out with Xone DB4)
One day. When I make a shit ton of money. Total Price for everything(new that is) comes to a grand total of:
(with XONE 92)-3,794.00 USD
(with XONE DB4)-3,896.00 USD
(with XONE 4D)-4,297.00 USD
Oh and if I came across one, a monome 256. Just because I believe they are cool as hell.I know I can do close to the same thing with my APC, but I can't find anything with a grid that large.

I do this and it works out alright for me. Do you sync from your decks or set a master bpm on the clock itself? If you get it about right, and use tempo nudge in Ableton it can work pretty well. I use my DDM as my master MIDI clock for pretty much everything if I'm playing with all my toys at once and so far it's worked fine

As far as dream setups, I'm pretty much there (as per sig) but I'd make a few changes:

* Proper hardware synth (MINIMOOG most likely)
* Pioneer Nexus Mixer
* Decent speakers!
