Okay so im believeing im going to sell my mixtrack pro & f1 to cover the cost of a traktor soundcard and a case for the DJM & X1. I have numerous questions on this setup however.

1:
Do i need a Audio 6 or 8 for this? does it have to be Traktor or Komplete?

2:
Is there a case that fits a DJM 800 and X1? As well as a soundcard and laptop maybe?

3:
With this setup, would i be able to use the DJM normally? (e.g. inbuilt effects and colour effects) also would my speakers be connected to the DJM, or the soundcard?

Yeah been looking for audio 8 or 10. No one basically is selling them in Oz second hand.. postage from america is like 100 dollars so have to wait i guess.

Its not that big of a deal if the soundcard ever failed for whatever reason. I would mainly be using this setup for houseparties not clubs or festivals i play. So it isnt too serious if it ever failed.

a local store a doing a deal on the silver one for $1400 oz. I could sell my DJM 800 for $800 but i still fail to see why i should spend an extra $600 because it had direct midi. DJM 850 just seems like it has a Audio 8 built into it.. only significant difference i can see. I could buy the Audio 6 or 8 for $200 and save $400 and thats when the 850 is on sale.

EDIT: DJM 850S on sale $1400. forgot to put that in, retail at $1650 when not on sale, same as black.

As for what sound card you should buy, I would say it depends on how many channels you need. If you want 4 channels (to go with the 4 channels on your mixer, as what you would get on a DJM 850), you will need the A8 at least (as far as I know).
haha god damn i find myself re-evaluating what to do with my setup every day. I also want a pair of CDJ 900s as am selling my pair of CDJ 1000 mk3 to cover most of that. Selling Traktor F1 as unneeded and mixtrack pro and its case when i can work out what i want to do with my X1. Keeping the DJM 800 for use with the 900s but now im not sure 850 could be better i wouldnt need a soundcard though would i? because its Usb midi or something?

EDIT: also wanting to keep the 800 for use with x1 for portability setup.

Because i already own a DJM 800 and X1.. DJM 800 is still a great mixer. Was looking at upgrading to an 850 for a minute but wondered why i should bust out another $1600 australian for it.. buying a soundcard is cheaper Audio 6 on gumtree for $200 so yeah haha

Djm 850 has much better sound quality than 800. I'm a pio fanboy but the 800 does have a slightly sharp metallic sound where as the 850/900 are crystal clear and sound lovely. Built in soundcard is a nice touch. Beat colour fx are nice too

An Audio 6 gives you up to 3 Traktor decks. It shouldn't matter whether you use the Traktor or Komplete Audio 6 as long as you don't use timecode, which requires a Traktor card.

The Audio 8 on the other hand gives you up to 4 Traktor decks.
