Hawtin Effect
Posted on: 02.11.2009 by Esta Christi
Hey guys,

this has buggin me for a while now, hawtin always uses this one effect in his sets, i cant figure out how he does it and its really hard to descibe it here. il give it a shot though: the effect sounds kinda like the pioneer robot effect and once he starts it he increses the "pitch" (maybe better to say frequency i mean how "high" it sounds) building up a drop in itself. it completely distorts the original sound. if any of u guys have the song handy, assign the source by reboot has a similar effect at 4:17. any ideas? cant find it in traktor pro.

Cheers!

maybe its the Reverb effect... i use that alot to do what i believe you are describing, but he is also using ableton in his sets, so it could be a vst that he is using in ableton....
