Stephnie Twardzik 14.05.2014 | Hey guys, my name is Ryan Clark I've been mixing for about 10 years and and recently (last June) got my first vinyl setup and have slowly been delving into the realm of turntablism and digital controllerism performance to augment my sound. I started DJing fraternity parties for my fraternity back in 2004. I played mostly hip hop and some top 40. My last residency was a college bar in Fort Collins doing mostly Top 40 EDM, hip hop and mainstream remixes. I have a lot of fun playing with all sounds, from the newest trends (trap, 110, the resurgence of funk and glitch hop at the time of this writing) and sounds from all over the past including funk and what I refer to as "golden age" hip hop. I try to stay as varied as possible and I have different goals when practicing in the bedroom or playing live. I'm looking forward to my next gig, hopefully sooner than later, as I'm moving to KC soon. I hope to have a lot of productive discussion here moving forward. - Cheers |

Jeramy Sandone 12.05.2014 | Hello guys, my name is Jon O'Sullivan, I live in New Hampshire in Laconia, (they host a bike week here...) and I'm posting here to say hi. I started listening to EDM when I was 12 (Now I'm 23). My brother brought over Louie Devito Cd's to my Dad's place and I fell in love ever since then. I own a Maschine Mikro Mk1, but I've never actually DJ'd. I've tried VDJ and have issues with track transitions. I can't say I've actually DJ'd though. I hope to sell my CDJ-400 I bought that is basically NIB, never used more than 10 minutes to be able to buy IDK, a Kontrol S2 *even though I'd prefer the S4* to try to get going. When/If that happens, I would most likely mix Trance, Deep House and ElectroHouse/Swing. Not sure since I've never gotten my feet wet so to speak. Cheers, Kairo (Jon) |

Neal Janowitz 18.04.2014 | Hi Everyone, I am Darshin from SuperSync, an iTunes library management software. SuperSync is a software which helps users manage their iTunes library better with simplified sync, merge, transfer, share, removal of duplicates, between iTunes libraries across multiple pcs/macs. Recently, we've had an increased base of DJs who have been using SuperSync and have been overwhelmed about its capabilities, the ease with which their music management issues were solved and based upon their suggestions and recommendations, we are spreading the word in the DJ community. Keen to communicate with you all and looking forward to help with SuperSync as much as we can. Regards, Darshin |

Catherina Oriordan 14.04.2014 | looking for help on mapping LED's for my controller, stumbled across this community
and decided to sign up and introduce myself, see if it's something i can get involved in 1) Levo / David Leatherbarrow 2) Northwest England 3) Rap/HipHop/Dubstep/Electro/Trance/Scouse House/Hardcore.... lots lol. i've been DJing since the summer of 2008 and although i've done a few house parties and such, i've not done anything remotely professional.. lack of contacts and all that. i learned on vinyl direct drives, got some belt drives of my own and found it difficult accounting for the lag of uptake (of belt drives) after being used to/spoiled by direct drives. i started to lose interest in DJing until the guy who taught me the basics shown me VDJ. i eventually got vdj, became pretty much an expert at mixing with a mouse and pc keyboard before discovering usb controllers. lack of confidence, that whole "can i actually mix?" and low funds made the Numark Mixtrack Pro the perfect option for me and i haven't looked back since. so that's me. i'll probably talk to a few of you in the near future |
