Biography
Rene Hewitt CEO from iMusic Underground Records and www.iMuiscRadio.biz announced that he was retiring but he changed his mind & decided to come back to continue with the best of music in all genres. His roots has been stapled in the music industry from the club such as “Inferno” on 19th street between 5th & 6th aves in NYC, from 1976 till 1980 with Kenny Carpenter who WORKED the lights Fiercely back then and is also a staple in the industry as a Legendary DJ now living in Rome, Italy. Rene auditioned one day while Angelo Clemente (owner/Inferno) was painting the club and listened to him play the classics then; Sex Machine, Just Begun, and more and decided the he got the job. "I love you Kenny Carpenter" and thanks for the good times and support! - Rene Hewitt Rene Hewitt also worked with club promoters Mike Stone and Charles Jackson who were instrumental with Rene and stuck by his side at the club “Warehouse” in the Bronx with Andre Collins, who is the best. Just don't talk to Andre when he's playing because the finger in your face will mean “Step Back”...lol. Rene's roots also started with Eddie Rivera at the original IDRC Record Pool at Attorney Street in NYC, with Jamie, Dennis, Sherrie, Lorie, Carlos and the rest of the gang. Rene was also the house DJ at the “Chase” with James Rice and Greg. Listen, those were the “Real Days” when Music was Music and Dj's were Dj's previous to us hanging out at IDRC with Eddie Rivera and Louie “Lou” Gorbea. He left marks in clubs such as “Studio 54”, “Ice Palace” and radio stations such as WBLS, WKTU etc...etc... It was David Mancuso where he hung out at the Original "Loft" on Broadway. Rene was mesmorized with David's selection of music and even tried to be his light guy. If time prevails Rene will tell the “REAL” story...what really was going on those days. There were Dj's such as Eddie Rivera, Kenny Carpenter, David Mancuso, Tee Scott, Larry Levan, Larry Patterson, Jelly Bean, DJ FM, Bruce Forrest, Little Louie Vega, Bruce Rump, David Todd, Louie "Looweer" Rivera, Tony Humphries, Keith Dumpson (Producer), Joe Claussell, Danny Krivit, Francois K, which are a hand full of the Dj's Rene grew up with. For those I haven't mentioned you know who you are, it has been a journey but again Rene will release the real untold story. Rene also worked endlessly for years as Director of Public Relations for Director Josell Ramos and was featured in the DVD, Maestro - The Documentary.
