Opinions on DJ Name

Hello guys, I kinda need your input on a dj name I came up with lately..
Granted the fact that my real name is Philip Pronios
I thought that P-SQUARED/ P^2 seems like a good solution.
What I want to hear is your POV.
Thank you in advance

Thanks guys. Tekki, can I please a new thread about the book without getting flagged as spam? I believe it's relevant to a lot of questions asked on the community .

Well, there are some rules concerning the sigs... (NO EMBEDDED SOUNDCLOUDS! )

LoLz, as far as the book goes, IDD ask ZachDero/Mad Zach/Dan White/Ean for this.

Hey Yakov. How about asking Ean to do a review of your book? If it is good and he says it is, it will get you a lot more than just a thread in the community would, which, sorry to say, is spam in my eyes, even when you politely ask to do it and even get permission.

Smartly adding posts trying to help people with a certain chapter in your online book is another matter completely. So, I'd say, (and I have absolutely nothing to say here BTW), keep on trying to help the other users here as you just did. And since there are no rules for advertising in signatures, you could easily add some links to your site there too.

And I also noticed your community software for MIK and PN is, well, in need of improvement. If you are interested in fixing that and would like to have something like this community here, let me know via PM. I can give you some professional help, if you'd like. Oh, wait, is that spam? Oops.

Back to topic.

haha thanks man i believe having a dj handle is only really essential in certain scenes, mostly in gabber and dubstep, not really many artists use their real names! in the house and techno scene using your actual name is pretty accepted, yanno?

Yeah, leave the DJ out. When people see you behind the decks, they won't assume you are a concert pianist, they will know you are the DJ.

Um, you could take P^2 somewhere with logos and make it a brand. So the suggestion has potential. But as mentioned, getting people to understand it means P-Squared is anther issue. And P-Squared doesn't ring like a DJ name to me. It is more like a geeky rapper name. "Jo, jo, jo, it's P-squared in duh house! Slamin it and rockin it so you got no doubts! Yeah....."

Just to throw another question in here, if you don't mind Philippro (which also doesn't sound too bad either as a name for a DJ to me). Does "DJ" need to be in the name? I mean, I've come into this scene at a late age and have relatively just started mixing music. And I actually don't consider myself a "DJ", as I now only know how to "control" music with an S4 and Traktor. (yeah, I'd love to learn how to use turntables, scratch, etc. but haven't yet had the chance). But, I actually don't want to be called a DJ or have it in my name. DJ scamo or DJ whatever... (scamo is just a mix of my initials, BTW). My son, who is also learning to mix music with me, said we should call our selves "party pilots" or something similar. So does DJ really need to be in the name at all?

Edit-/ Sorry, I don't want to take over this thread with another conversation, so I've made my own thread. Please continue with the suggestions for Philippro. Sorry again...

I don't believe punters are big on algebra; I'd go with something else.

No context; it's a name. No one is going to understand P^2 though

I like it , but I like weird DJ names (Mines The Echo Reflex). Do you plan to eventually produce with that name ? just curious
