Bassnectar weighs in on Deadmau5 issue (sorta)

Given the timing I'd say this is in response to Deadmau5, though he doesn't go so far as to say so:

Pushing Buttons or Pushing Boundaries by Bassnectar

Notice that unlike Deadmau5, Lorin actually writes like an adult.

Lorin's article really hits the nail on the head.

Especially this:

At the end of the day, this live experience is more important than what is happening on stage.
and this:

There is no cheating. Unless you claim to do one thing, and act like you are doing it, but are really not doing it (like lip-synching).

that's odd and if that's the case it isn't how he's representing himself in his interviews and on his website and social media pages. i will say that the last time i saw him here in vegas it was a evening mare. first of all it was at rain evening club, which has an awful procedure to get people inside and the layout of the venue is terrible. i mean who builds the entrance at the front of the stage? we got there an hour early and waited in the will call line for almost 2 hours. that wasn't his fault but by the time we got in he only played for about an hour or so until he took off since he was leaving for another venue very early in the morning. i also heard him play several of the exact same transitions from other shows and even his mix cds he's released. i believe he may need to take a break from touring for a bit to regroup.

personally i'm not liking his new stuff as much as the underground communication era tunes, but i love that he is doing his own thing and i know he is making sounds he enjoys with all of his heart and i respect the shit out of that. when i saw him in l.a. a year or two ago...well that show blew my mind. the energy was amazing and his mix that evening was heavenly. it rivaled some of the best band live performances i've caught. i've seen him 2 other times and neither quite lived up to the magic of that evening in l.a. but it was still great to watch him doing his thing. i do like how he's playing a bit more dnb lately though, cause i'm a sucker for dnb with 1/2 tempo drumstep stuff.

Yes, using a custom music video to prove a point about DJs being lazy on stage does not count.

...the sad thing is that I've seen some high name DJs 'pressing buttons' in a high energy way -- the problem being that standing next to them I saw them pressing the plastic panel of a Pioneer CDJ deck...
