Internet Radio - What do you LISTEN to?
Posted on: 02.07.2012 by Audrey Pinda
So pretty simple. There are a lot of internet radio stations out there. Some seem like they are a flash in the pan, but some having some staying power.

What do you guys actually listen to? Not what you perform on, unless you realistically listen to that station as well.

Personally when I want Dubstep/Grime, I tune into filth.fm on my iPhone. And when I want some of the harder stuff, I listen to fear.fm on my iPhone. (At home I don't usually listen to internet radio honestly). Most of my internet radio listening these days is during my commute to work or events.

What are some of the radio stations you listen to? I'd like to expand my arsenal a bit, figured this would be the place to ask.

I rarely ever listen to a channel just running individual tracks. There are tons of weekly (or biweekly, or monthly, or whatever) shows on DI that I like and listen to regularly (Yoshitoshi Radio, Blind Spot, Wasabi, Transitions, etc etc - enough to fill most of the week just with scheduled stuff) and if its an odd hour I'll just scroll through the channels of genres I like looking for one playing a mix (or the DJ mixes channel). Once you find some radio shows that you like its a lot easier to sort out.

ooTunes for iOS plays streaming radio it is pretty nice for organizing favorites and searching for new stations. some places have a web link that will work, but I find a stand alone app to play is better.

Used to listen to chillstep.info but it seems to be down now? Or they're updating. I'll check out some of the ones you guys posted.

I love Slacker Radio's "Indie Electronic" station. It aligns perfectly with the music I love right now.

I occasionally use digitally imported, but love the fact that both offer a "free" service both online and as an app on my smartphone.

bassdrive is what I listen to the most, I really like trying to catch Random Movements and few others sets. i like dubstep.fm a bit, especially Dank Dealz spot. I've been listening when the mood for some house to Proton Radio for a long time, they don't do live sets but always have a great mix tape playing.

Indeed...listened to them for years now, though I also tune into Proton Radio - they play some wildly alternative EDM.

I love Di.FM but, SSradioUK has live DJ's 90% of the time. Checkout Seamless Sessions show and Grant Nelson's Housecall.
