More Deck-jacking; I guess this is a thing now? Posted on: 09.07.2012 by Danae Dumler http://stoneyroads.com/cassian-anna-...cks-hollywood/This time from the Black Eyed Douchebags. In my hood. Fuck this bullshit. Drai's, and all those other giant-ass Vegas-style pop clubs can bite me. That is all. | |

(I believe it was on Las Palmas?) Drai's is upstairs of Dim Mak, isn't it? I believe it used to be Ivar. (Which also sucked, heh.) |
Johnsie Kingrea 09.07.2012 | Sorry for the double post, damn tapatalk |
Johnsie Kingrea 09.07.2012 | Drais use to be LAX right? |
Johnsie Kingrea 09.07.2012 | Drais was formerly LAX right? |
Latina Samon 09.07.2012 | What's the point in even playing 15 minutes each? What does anyone gain from that? Drais basically admitted to selling out and letting it happen for the money from the BEP punters. How hollow can you get? If they'd let the original DJ's have their full sets then let BEP play their half hour wouldn't everyone have been happy? |

I give them credit for at least recognizing the importance of underground reputation to their business; if it means they don't do this again in the future, something good has been accomplished. And frankly, if it went down like they said it did, there would have been no problem - the BEP guys would have been the ones with the half hour set, and everyone would have gone home happy. |

Danae Dumler 09.07.2012 | Yeah I don't doubt the DJs got paid for their trouble. The fans sure didn't, though, and obviously it's not just about the money. It's one thing if they call the DJ that morning and say, look, DJ Five Dolla Holla is rollin through with all his bitches and he's gonna double your fee for you to stay home and tweet apologies to your followers while he plays Levels on repeat. It still sucks but it gives everyone a chance to save face and gives the fans a chance to find a better place to go that evening
. But these people are getting booted at the last minute, sometimes when they're already playing (like the incidents in Vegas); it makes everyone look bad and it's damn unprofessional. I mean, seriously, the Black Eyed Peas couldn't have arranged an afterparty a couple days ahead of time?? But it doesn't matter; I wouldn't waste my time at Drai's to begin with; I'd rather take a drive down to the Little Cave |
Alla Bluemke 09.07.2012 | well I'm sure they would still get paid. Its probably more of an integrity thing and fame to your name. |

I wasn't able to read the article du2 a DNS problem....so I dont know if this was mentioned. But the resident dj is payout + given a fat tip for the evening and is usually free to hang around. Its sucks, but money is money, and like the Million Dolla Man said, everyone has a price. |
