Does anyone have quality issues with your Traktor stuff? I've gone through an S4, S2, ad X1 all have issues internally, either the master output sucked on my s4, now my headphone cue is broken, I can't hear anything in my headphones on my s2, and my X1 rotary broke and stopped sending signal. How often are you guys having issue? I literally have only been using NI stuff for about 2 years and it just seems so poor in quality. My CDJs have been through hell and back and no issues at all. Kinda frustrating. |

The driving force behind it though is that no one is willing to pay for quality anymore so we get cheaper components in the gear. And NI have made their gear the only ones that can fully communicate with the program so people will have to buy it, it's a great short term business strategy, don't know about the long term though as they have to live up to the hype and release the new controller just before all the old ones break down, So I guess that means soon LOL
As a fully signed up member and supporter of the S4 for a year and a half, I must say I tend to agree - but I believe it's common to most new hardware. I've not had any issues with the S4 apart from software but I do have the impression it's not built for the next decade or so like the traditional Technics TT's and simple 2/4 ch analogue mixers which can take a lot of abuse. I believe the general turn over of electronic goods (phones, computers and now controllers) is shorter now than it was. The relative cost has been driven down, this is obvious, and as a result reliability/quality has reduced I believe - even the 'hallowed' Apple products follow the same path (me: 18 months, 3 iPhone 4's - delicately looked after too and all replaced without question from Apple which indicates known faults to me). |

Eloy Kiepke 27.07.2012 | Have an S4 and two of the faders wander, and one button has lost all lights... Had an X1, till it broke. And yes these are definitely hardware problems.
NI's controllers just have horribly low build quality, despite what all the fanboys say. |
Cristian Carmona 27.07.2012 | my audio 8 has been solid since i bought it in 08/09? tho my brothers S4 is out of service, its stuck in Bootup mode...I did contact NI and I got the copy & paste reply...unstall, re install drivers & software. I believe its a hit or miss with the hardware quality, maybe QC lets things side? |
Kasandra Kreindler 27.07.2012 | my audio 8 DJ and X1 have never given me any issues at all |
Alla Bluemke 27.07.2012 | or could it be due to me upgrading to 2.5.1? I mean that wouldn't make much sense though. |
