Brunilda Kora 01.11.2013 | I set a rule changing ft.urecast to Featurecast - but I'll give this method a try. Thanks for the heads up! I have considered setting up an action to populate Genre based on Artist - but I have so many tracks by Artists that produce multiple Genres that it is just easier to manually type the Genre myself. |

I currently have them doing THIS: Delete all Tags that I do not use (year/album artist/composer/comments, etc...) Convert Filename to Tag (Key - BPM - Artist - Title) Insert "created date" into "sort name" field (This helps me with iTunes Dynamic Playlists for by Month Playlists). MASSIVE thanks to Papo for helping me out in THIS thread. Replace "feat", "feat.", "Feat", or "Feat." with "ft." (exactly the same as Sigma) <<<This caused me a bit of grief when it started renaming my Featurecast tracks to ft.urecast!!! Replace Dj with DJ and Mc with MC Like I said - a HUGE world of posibilities that I have only just scratched the surface of! |
Lina Rawie 01.11.2013 | I use MP3Tag. Once you know how to use actions with it, it makes tagging a piece of piss. I have 1 action set up that does this when it's selected: - Changes the case so each word starts with a capital letter and the rest of the letters are lower case Replaces "feat", "feat.", "Feat", or "Feat." with "ft." Copies the artist name to the artist tag field from the folder name Copies the album title to the title tag field from the folder name Copies the artist tag field to the album artist field Replaces '' (2 apostrophes) with " (proper quotation mark) in tag fields Tags the genre with "Hip-Hop" Tags the year with "2013" Embeds the folder.jpg file in the album folder into each music file That basically leaves me with very little to do other than change the year and genre if necessary. I chose "Hip-Hop" and "2013" as the defaults as they're the ones I find I use the most. If the album is by various artists, I have another action set up to handle that which does all of the above, but it places "Various Artists" in the album artists field, and the relevent artists' names in each track's artist field. |
Desire Piedmont 01.11.2013 | jriver media center I believe the free version jriver media jukebox is as flexible for tagging and organising a library. It does everything Filthy Dave mentioned in one program. |
Narcisa Hughie 30.10.2013 | I don't use iTunes at all these days. Fed up of all the bugs and waiting half an hour whilst it uses all four of my cores at full power for the simplest of tasks! dbPoweramp for ripping and conversion Tag & Rename for tidying things up Trainspotter 2.1 for dynamic playlists |
Latoria Kavulich 30.10.2013 | I use itunes but yeah it is a PITA |
Narcisa Hughie 30.10.2013 | Tag & Rename |
Augustine Mitzen 30.10.2013 | mp3tag's alright. itunes is great for tagging, but if you're on windows i wouldn't bother with it tbh |
Layne Koop 31.10.2013 | Media Monkey. |
Lakeesha Storman 30.10.2013 | foobar2000. The only reason I'm using it over mp3tag is support of aiff. |
Brunilda Kora 30.10.2013 | Nothing wrong with MP3Tag, mate. Stick with it. |
