*excuse my ignorance, haven't messed around with any ipad dj apps.
Both Djay and Vjay allow you to use Numarks IDJay Live or Mixdeck Quad controllers for mixer/dual deck use within the iPad app - and its bloody responsive.

It definitely does, although perhaps not with this particular app - Plenty of DJ ipad apps allow simultaneous dual mixing and even one with midi control (Djay with Numark Idj controller).
Hell it can even handle dual Video Streams with Audio mixing and Cam recording using their Vjay app.

Its a software rather than hardware limitation mebelieves that being the case, shame Djay or mixvibes does not allow for midi mapping like this

So.... how are you gonna charge your ipad?? :S
Good point and something that Pioneer addressed by utilizing Rekordbox over wifi to mobile devices rather than USB which I guess will make it into their next pro range of products as well.

I like this company. They aren't doing anything mind-blowing, but they're pushing things in the right direction. The Red Bull BPM app impressed me, but having MIDI capabilities is huge.

Nobody in their camp is saying "ditch your pro setup and play a sold out festival with an iPad." They're saying "we created an iPad app with MIDI learn function and you can mix music with it".

Pretty soon, tablets will rule the personal computing world. They're already more powerful than the first laptop I ever owned and they're only going to get better and cheaper.

I welcome this and I'm excited for the day when I can ditch a laptop for a tablet.

the developers state that you can play about 5 hours with the app and one charge of the pad.. still there needs to be a solution for the charging issue.. and the sound (if you cannot use the controllers soundcard)

I stand corrected. Thanks Deevey.

Back to this App, being able to run a pair of turntables on this app would be amazing. External power is a must though.

saw the video with the cdjs last evening ... looks pretty damn sick. specially since you can connect 2 cdjs to one ipad. pioneer and denon need to bring this to their ipad apps.

I'd use that with the new pioneer thing (the WeGo).

And its working with the Soundcard for the VCI ... things are hotting up in the iOS arena.

A Slimmed down Ableton style IOS app would be hot with an APC plugged in

That's quite cool.

I still hate iPads though. =P
