ah i wrecked my sennheiser hd25s, any advice on some diy repairs? Posted on: 07.09.2012 by Rebbecca Fennell a shelf with my krks, my laptop and a computer monitor came loose from my wall and of course fell square on my 25s. cosmetically theyre fine but now i only get audio out of the left ear (the wired side). anyone know any links to some helpful info? figure it should be as simple as cracking them open and resoldering whatever came loose | |

Ossie Pooley 08.09.2012 | Put up photos of the disassembly, maybe someone will see something. |
Golden Faubert 08.09.2012 | are the casings visibly scuffed / marked, if the're tidy just take them back to the store and say they stopped weorking and you want a replacement, if they're under warranty |
Rebbecca Fennell 08.09.2012 | so i did a complete disassembly and some basic tests. i unplugged the busted can and the good can, and i swapped plugs - no change. so its not the cables. opened up the bad can all the way down to the drivers - both red wires seem intact. gently used my screwdriver to see if they felt secure. plugged in the plug to see if the prongs were making contact with the springs. sure looks like it, ive got one of those desktop craft lamps with the magnifying glass and it looks right. i dont know, nothing really seems out of place yet im getting no sound. i just bought these early this year so its not even like theyre old |
Nancey Inderlied 07.09.2012 | Virtually every single part of HD-25s are available and replaceable to some means. It's just a matter of tracing what broke and ordering that. Do a complete disassembly (within your ability) and see what doesn't look not broken. |
Rebbecca Fennell 07.09.2012 | yeah wiggling cables isnt doing anything for them |
Rebbecca Fennell 07.09.2012 | you mean like whatever theyre connected too? yeah i tested them on 3 different device outputs, i was expecting that it was just my busted ass phone and not my 25s. i checked the visible cables and nothing is externally loose |
Chas Giraldez 07.09.2012 | ^this, the left wire connection comes loose easily on my hd25's |
Leeanna Ayla 07.09.2012 | Have you checked the connection? |
