To look at the crate I use browsemode anyway and in Traktor Pro 2 it shows 4 minidecks at the top so you still can se if you run out of track. The small size and the power of the computer is great, and lions multiple desktops with 3 finger swipe switching is awsome when you run programs in full screen mode. |

Im a total mac noob, this being my first, so I haven't really figured out all of OSX's capabilities yet, I'm just stoked I can actually run traktor ableton and reason all at the same time, without having to see my old HP's impersonation of a paperweight that is |

Kimberley Jaindl 14.09.2012 | Hey I have Lion too but i cant 3 finger swipe from ableton to traktor. It works with all other apps just not those two. Any Idea why? |

Keli Muennink 20.04.2012 | Im in the market for a MBP so are you telling me to wait until they release the new models, when do they usually bring out the new models?????? |
Chasidy Heckenbach 19.04.2012 | odd they're removing the dvd drive given they already have the ultra slim air's. when choosing between the mbp or air it was dvd drive and extra usb ports that made me want to go for the mbp. plus u can always swap out the whole dvd drive for a hdd caddy if wanted. glad i picked up my 13" mbp when i did just have the 4gb in mine and can't see me needing more for a while - tho i may upgrade it sometime anyway. certainly not going to run out of cpu cycles any time soon - this machine is going to last a while... |

Geri Jarra 19.04.2012 | You wont even need to upgrade. The i5 will be plenty to run traktor and some. Get it as is, in the future you can add ram |
Dorsey Blaszczyk 19.04.2012 | the refurb model i originally spoke about is gone so that leaves the 13" macbook pro at |

Kandra Fagler 18.04.2012 | i just hope the next 15 inch will have 1920x1080 resolution or better |
Geri Jarra 18.04.2012 | ^this CD drive is a must. maybe wait for the new mbps to come out and snag a "sandy bridge" on the cheap |
Joesph Kasian 18.04.2012 | They have been saying the new Macbook is landing since the last one - I'm sure it'll be coming soon but the general vibe is it'll not have a C.D drive as they are going down the Air route. I need to be able to put C.Ds in as I still get given alot of them at events so I made the jump a few months ago; i7, 8GB ram, 750GB HDD, duel boot and the thing is an absolute beast - I can open at least 5 massive programmes and it just laughs at me like 'is that it!?' Defo worth the investment man. |
Stanley Peckman 18.04.2012 | Keep an eye on the John Lewis website; OK the laptops are list price but they include a two year warranty on macbookss as standard and they have just finished a promotion that was three years warranty free of charge. No doubt it'll be back again soon. Especially when the next gen Macbooks are rumoured to be getting a product launch towards the end of this month...... |
Chasidy Heckenbach 18.04.2012 | i got an i5 a couple of months ago. from what i read there isn't a massive difference between the recent i5's and i7's compared to before. i believe they added some more cache to the i5 that it didn't have before? on previous mbp's there's a much bigger gap in performance between the i5 and i7. |
Johnsie Kingrea 17.04.2012 | I'd consider holding off jussst a little bit, http://macbookpro.macrumors.com/ I always go to this site to see what's coming out soon, to avoid the mistake of buying something that's going to be updated next month. |
Geri Jarra 17.04.2012 | i7.. Ive had it for almost a year now and love it. I got it from the refurb store, but it looked brand new. My buddy/roommate has the i5. Its good, but the difference is noticeable. The i7 loads everything faster and glitches way less. |
Dorsey Blaszczyk 17.04.2012 | cheers people! believe the i7 makes sense... Cant wait to get it all sorted and no more burning cds and making covers. |
Julianna Riecken 17.04.2012 | Yeh get the i7, they all come with AppleCare and that can be extended for another 2 years anyway |

Rolanda Clodfelder 17.04.2012 | Is it second hand or a refurb with full warranty, either way it is the current model so i'd probably go with i7 over i5 Either will run Traktor2 perfectly (As does my 2009 C2D MBP BTW with Ableton loaded simultaneously) .. its not that heavy on processor and are both equally reliable. If the i7 is S/H get Applecare (if not already included) |
