Mix Constructive criticism needed (Prog/Electro House) Posted on: 25.08.2010 by Estela Requa Hi, just recorded a little mess around mix with some of the songs im liking at the moment. Would be great if you could give it a listen and provide me with some constructive criticism. I am fairly beginner so anything at all you have to say will be taken greatly.I do apologise in advance for the clipping in certain areas, i need to have a little look at my settings. | Dusti Gorbet 25.08.2010 | np! It's hard to get feedback on mixes - I've had little luck myself. I'll post new ones as I get 'em heh. but again - take more chances! For me I just gotta spend more time on the same set of songs, I burn thru them so quickly - feel like I have to be bleeding edge all the time. |
| Estela Requa 25.08.2010 | Yea the volume drops are with using effects. Trying to start using them but im not very 'educated' with them so the volume does drop sometimes and as you said it kind of loses its flow. Thanks for all your feedback though, greatly appreciated! |
| Dusti Gorbet 25.08.2010 | I like it - pretty smooth, good song selection. Be careful about "too much" - sometimes you drop volume too much (through filter or just plain eq I figure) and it does loose the mix. I do it all the time too, as it turns out - volume control is my biggest hurdle! heh. That being said, I say you take more chances with your mixing - you can afford to, everything is tight |
| Allene Manitta 25.08.2010 | thank you for your quick answer. so will be mine well I'd say it's a solid mix. transitions nice and in beat, although sometimes there is a little too much going on. try to set the transitions clearer. |
