I did like Hooj too but it was a touch cheesier maybe. I did see Hyper Go Go live at Club UK and remember that nearly blowing my tiny gurning mind.

Those defo were the days i could rave by a speaker all evening without feeling like lying on a sofa and watching Living TV

@WaterJunkie, yeah this is proper quality music man.

decided i'm going to rustle up a part 2 soon

ahh Club UK brings back memories i knew the guy who ran the dj's so used to pop down there most saturdays for a freebie, then pop across the road to the other club who's name i can't remember

well how's about this label Tribal America loved their releases especially Jason Nevins

It used to be just called Garage... I only mentioned the UK thing cause to me it had that definite UK Pirate radio sound to it. At least that's how i remember it.

I'd say maybe Classic Garage is a better way to describe it...
Your right there, it's definitely an early UK version of garage similar sounds a bit more what i would call dubby, but either way one of my top labels from back then along with cleveland city and hooj tunes as well as the US labels of course..

Nice man, good tunes, though I must admit I didn't any of those.

This was the best of the Grooveyard releases that I have:

@craftybutcher, yeah Slo Moshion is a house tune, no doubt, but I just remember that was kind of the vibe back then... it was "House and Garage" and you could kind of mix it up and work one into the other...

As with all good music it eventually splinters off into fractions of itself...

@Ciar Tribal America was off the scale too... I got a bunch off the label, the pick being a track called The Dance.

Junior Boys Own, another great label

Speed garage I detest that term. This is when garage was and still is brilliant.

First time I've heard Slo Moshun in a mix for years, defintely a house tune but still a 4/4 beat which early garage adopted.

A doff of the cap for you my good sir

:::Hands clapping above head:::

As dance music evolves and twists over the decades, these are the kind of tunes and the tracks I always come back to. I'm about as straight as they come and completely happy as a male, but Garage and soulful deep house makes me want to come back in another life as a fat black diva belting out anthems! Thanks for sharing.
