Is anyone else having trouble mapping led feedback for remix decks in the new traktor Posted on: 27.06.2013 by Valeri Holderness Hey guys,As many of you probably already know, you can now map any controller you want to the remix decks! I've mapped them to my maschine mk1 and I'm now trying to map LED feedback such that the buttons light up after I hit them. Anyways, as with any LED mapping, I went to add out. I found the remix deck section and went to direct mapping so I could map each button to each its appropriate LED feedback. This is where things get stupid. After opening the drop down menu, I can only select the bottom half of options. If i attempt to click the top half (ex. "Slot 1 Cell 1 State"): it does not highlight the option and if I go over the option, then it simply reverts to the last drop down menu Does anyone have a solution to this OR does anyone know of a maschine mk1 mapping for the remix decks? | |

Kellie Myrum 04.07.2013 | Sorted it out. It was really easy to fix - just set slot level min velocity value to display same color as your slot cells. Cheers, |
Nedra Fresneda 03.07.2013 | I haven't tried it with the spectra yet but shoot me a pm so i remember to do so tomorrow (i'm having quite a busy week) |

Trang Partch 01.07.2013 | I believe I have officially reached "LED hell" now as well. Tried for the last two days to get something meaningful working on my Xone K2 (output wise, triggering Cells works like a charm), without any luck. I created a rather straight forward mapping based on the "Slot X Cell Y State" as the output trigger, and combined that with the state modifier so that it only fires when each of the states is reached. I had some trouble so I used midi-ox to see what's actually being sent from traktor. The sad thing is, that Traktor creates all the expected midi events, but the sequence it creates them in is problematic. At least for the K2 which uses three notes per LED to pick a color. The technical core of the problem is the K2 not liking it, when the note off and note on for the different colors of the LEDS come out of sequence. When the Cell State changes, my mapping outlined above will trigger let's say for example the following Note On C2 (turn on LED A with color RED) [...] ---> press button, trigger Cell state change ... Note On C5 (turn on LED A with color AMBER) Note Off C2 (turn off LED A with color RED) will leave LED A turned off (last message wins). The problem is, that when the cell's switch states the notes are sent by Traktor in this interleaved form is shown above. I believe there's external tools to fix this but I don't like that approach that much. Another option could be to prevent Note Off to be sent, although I am not sure if that will work either. Guess I will have to pick a single color and apply the approach mentioned above (empty / loaded / playing). |
Kellie Myrum 28.06.2013 | Just tried this on my CNTRL:R, works like a charm! Too bad that I won't be able to produce this kind of slot play indication in my ultimate tool due to lack of condition slot but at least I'll have all slots for 4 decks assignable. Damn modifier wall. |
Nedra Fresneda 28.06.2013 | Yeah, first NI controller with brightness control was the X1. APC users are out of luck too, not sure about Launchpad since I never mapped one |

It will give you dim: off>full:hit. You can't completely turn off the led from a pad unless you are actually telling it via the Controller Editor to disable the pad completely. Look up the feature request thread over at NI community , I know there are at least a few of them asking for what you want. |

Nedra Fresneda 28.06.2013 | This for every cell in every deck you want to map. Note That I am using the Cell State modifier pointed to the specific cell, (1/1 in this case) |

Jarod Perrodin 28.06.2013 | its for mk1 & 2's the mk2 bit I cant test myself as I dont have one. It will also work on the mikro's, it needs a control editor template making, Il do that toevening
. I have posted the same map at ni's community . It works much like the previous version of my app, although no app is needed now. Install the maschine template, then install the map to traktor with the small add button in preferences, control manager The map works with groups E&F deck c&D as remix decks, Basic controls for Track decks as A&B are all done. Scene & Pattern are page up and down in the remix sets, basic mixer controls for the volumes, eq's etc are on the screens, to stop a sample hold mute and press the row any pad in the row to stop Note repeat works as quantise on off in remix decks or loop on/off in track decks the swing knob works as quantise amount / loop size press select to set up the remix deck, the pads work in rows for punch, fx, monitor and key lock Play is play restart is sync in track decks the bottom row of pads are the hot cues 1 - 8, to delete a hotcue press erase and tap the hotcues to delete press erase again to go back to normal play I believe thats about it, its not the most complete mapping ever I made it from scratch yesterday it leaves out alot of controls, fx, loop recorder and so on, but it has lots left over to map them too Any questions give me a shout, feel free to (buy me a beer use it and add to it modify it whatever just credit me if you do Jas |
Pennie Cyriac 28.06.2013 | @Jiggle... Your mapping is for the Maschine MK1? That would be great if you shared the mapping! |
Jarod Perrodin 28.06.2013 | Ive mapped 2 remix decks and 2 track decks for the maschine, Il upload it here if it helps? |

Kimberlee Giap 27.06.2013 | Odd - I tried this with my Lemur mapping last evening and it worked just fine over MIDI. That's the correct command to pick for the LED out. Maybe do a reinstall of 2.6.2? |
