Maschine Mapping
Posted on: 23.09.2012 by Erich Vallabhaneni
I downloaded and uploaded Beaubryte's Maschine mapping with Traktor and I ran into a problem. For some reasons its not responding in Traktor but the pads are lit up and has all the info from the mapping and it says Traktor is receiving a signal when I hit the pads but there is no response. Any idea what could be wrong?

Again - Bug Reports! We need your voice to make sure the heat is on NI. Go their site and file a report and get a ticket #.

/Maybe this is what i was experiencing. recently tried using my mikro to control a drum rack in ableton and it seemed to work ok at first. I was changing the ins/outs on a seperate track and then the midi stopped functioning. I though it was weird because when i open up a new fresh project with a rack it starts working again but as soon as i start getting into a new project it craps out. i've tried changing the "pick-up" setting and the other settings under midi preferances but cant get it to work. ableton shows that its getting a signal but nothing happens. Frustrated.

Good luck with the troubles. I guess none of the midi stuff was fixed with the 1.8 release?
Nope, only has midi dropouts in traktor, everything else is fine.

Unfortunately, there's not. This is a longstanding (2 f-in years!!) bug with Maschine midi mode, primarily on macs. Leaving controller manager open seems to help, but there's crash reports even doing that.

Do us all a favor and comment on the largest thread on the issue on the NI community s (don't worry about "ableton" in the title, it's not software specific), and do a bug report! We need as many voices on this as possible,

Let me explain a 15 page thread to you - Maschine in standalone mode (using Maschine software) you can route that audio into a Traktor deck and be fine. That's not the issue. The issue arises when you don't use Maschine software, put Maschine into MIDI mode (shift + control) and make a mapping/use a mapping to control Traktor/Ableton/Logic/Anything that uses MIDI. You will still have MIDI out (use the pads, knobs, whatever) but MIDI in (LED feedback) will fail to work. Go look at the NI community thread on it. It's a well known problem that doesn't have a fix.

nah step sequencer is used with the maschine program. If you're looking to get one, they are pretty amazing

Not trying to jack your thread Otacon, but is 'step sequencer' considered 'Midi mode'? I am getting a case of GAS, looking to pick up a mashcine.

Congrats. You just joined the useless Maschine club. Have fun with your paperweight till NI decides to do something about it.

I believe maschine gets midi drop outs in traktor? I've tried mine several times, it works for a little bit then just stops.
