Traktor: To Torrent or not to Torrent
Posted on: 25.09.2012 by Loria Capwell
I know DJTT has a strong love for Traktor and has helped me decide its the optimum choice in software for DJs but I wanted all of your opinions on this:

Do/Should you pirate Traktor?
or "Is it worth my time to buy Traktor or be a tight ass and torrent like a cheap ass bitch"

Pros and Cons of Buying.

Pros
Legitmate support from Traktor
Updates such as T2.5
Compatabiltiy with hardware is easier
Is cheap considering the value of products like virtual DJ (Why is VDJ so expensive?!?!?)
You dont feel like a douche

Cons
Costs money
Is outdated in new updates, like jumps from 2-3

Pros and Cons of Pirate.

Pros
Cheap
Does nearly everything full Traktor does

Cons
Feels slow and clunky
Doesn't respond well to changes
If something goes wrong with the product it cannot be fixed by NI
Feeling that something is missing
Feel like a douche/cheap ass

From experience I find that without NI support Traktors bugs become an announce without a quick fix solution

Any points you guys could share?

Honestly, I am not going to lie and say that I didn't originally torrent traktor 1, I tried it out and decided that indeed that was the program for me. Once I made this decision, I knew I had to purchase it first thing first before I invested into anything else.

I'm not going to knock you for believeing of just downloading it, but I do recommend that you do try to invest into purchasing it (you can also get a free copy if you buy NI gear). Not just the idea that you are supporting what you are doing, but to know that what you are relying on when playing out is legit and that you won't run into any problems.

$89 for TP2 really isnt much for proper updates and support. Granted, NI north america support are a bunch of asshats, but the euro guys are pretty good.

A producer friend once told me that no good music is made on pirated software...

I still believe Avicii got a royal karmic retribution with the MusicRadar article pictures showing him using pirated SW...

It's even worse if I find out if they use youtube rips or steal music. That's when I get someone to knock their shit all on the ground.

These threads are boring. Do what you want, it's up to you... what were you expecting to hear anyway, no one's gonna encourage you to pirate it so if you're looking for opinions you've come to the wrong place.
