Vestax Spin on PC via Virtual DJ7 or Traktor pro Posted on: 20.09.2012 by Armida Bartlette Hi, I am trouble having my Vestax Spin detected on either of the above softwares, I cannot connect to play through the SPIN. please help. Thanks | |
Kellie Myrum 25.09.2012 | Your controller should appier here: MIDI In-Out.jpg Also try to set "all ports". If it doesn't work ether way then it's something wrong with driver or it's unit malfunction. |
Kellie Myrum 26.09.2012 | It should work with any software that takes midi - ableton, vdj, mixxx, decadance, etc... But if your spin doesn't send midi to traktor I wouldn't be so sure it will send it to some other sowtfare ether. |
Armida Bartlette 26.09.2012 | Hi Stewe, Unfortunately nothing is helping..could not progress any further. Any other options, other softwares, that will work with spin, besides Mac. |
Kellie Myrum 25.09.2012 | Try to switch on you comp sound card and see if any changes. If not, then uninstall both asio drivers and reinstall only asio for typhoon. Also reinstalling typhoon driver can't really hurt. |
Armida Bartlette 25.09.2012 | Asio4all and or asio for typhoon |
Kellie Myrum 26.09.2012 | Which audio device do you use? Audio must be selected in order so midi can be sent. If you dont have audio card you cant use mapping though. |
Armida Bartlette 26.09.2012 | Hi, I am using the traktor pro. @steve..i cannot see any blue light.. Do you believe I should try out a different software, |
Freida Leash 26.09.2012 | What version of Traktor are you using out of curiosity? |
Kellie Myrum 25.09.2012 | Make sure it sends midi by pressing any button on your controller and looking at little blue blinking dot at the master section of the screen. If you got blue light then midi is sent to traktor and issue is with mapping. |
Armida Bartlette 25.09.2012 | Hi Stewe, Under device i could see the spin, and i selected all ports, unfortunately no luck. The device i know is fine, because my friend has tested it on his macbook. No issues. |
Kellie Myrum 25.09.2012 | Your controller should appier here: MIDI In-Out.jpg Also try to set "all ports". If it doesn't work ether way then it's something wrong with driver or it's unit malfunction. |
Armida Bartlette 25.09.2012 | Hi Stewe. Thanks for the response, but the software is not detecting the Spin anywhere, thanks |
Kellie Myrum 25.09.2012 | Use big import button twice and set midi in/out port by selecting your controller's name in drop down menu. Make sure that you are using right mapping for your version of traktor because earlier versions of mappings won't work correctly with 2.5 and vice versa. |

I'm using this one http://community .djranking s.com/showthread.php?t=24884 it lets you control four decks. You import .tsi files from the preferences and there are numerous tutorials on how to do this and the manual has a section too. Setting up the audio is another thing as you need to again go to the prefrences and select it as your sound card. The manual has pretty clear instructions on this. |
Kellie Myrum 21.09.2012 | Sorry, I'm not VDJ person... I guess somebody else can help you with it. If not, google is your friend. |
Armida Bartlette 21.09.2012 | Yes. This is the part I need help with, I am not that much of a computer person, so that's why I would need your assistance. Where and how do I get this Midi mapping. How do I install it on the virtual dj. Thanks |
Kellie Myrum 21.09.2012 | If you got your controller properly installed next thing you need to do is import midi mapping for your vestax. |
