Is it possible to setup a Dance Dance Revolution Pad as a Midi controller that could be mapped?

Definitely a toy. I was just giving example what somebody who already owns it can actually use for mapping. Also it can be modded into Mf mini style of controller or to use it in addition to other units since board is compact in size.

Honestly it was just a fun thought, I mean come on, if you can do it why not? I always find it more fun to re-purpose something for another use that it wasn't originally intended for! Plus that four button switch looks boring if you ask me (not hatin though). I used to play DDR when I was younger, everyday after school used to hit up the arcade and line my quarters up.

Dont have to be Asian ... kills the game, unfortunately his ankle as well though haha

There is actually some really heavy duty DDR boards out there.

Not Racist, just an observation from youtube.

All of the asians that absolutely kill it at that game could make some serious mashup, cuepoint juggling, modifier heaven!

I would not mind cue point juggling with my feet. Or instant grat.
