References for learning how to DJ
Posted on: 25.09.2012 by Meg Qu
Guys and girls, I was trying to get a solid idea of djing I believe I'd rather had a chance to read about gears.
Currently I own Novation Twitch and Mac pro. I was trying to find some good references about learning DJ but threads that are posted here weren't helpful too me.
Can you recommend me some book or references to feel what djing is?
It seems to me that people posting things all look like pros.

Like Risc said, just take alot of music you like and start seeing what goes good where. Start trying to beatmatch and just get your ear in tune. The more practice the better

First of all, no we are not all pro's (most of the guys here probably not at all). The way you actually learn DJ'ing is mix songs you like, mix the intro's/outro's, learn to beatmatch properly. Then listen to livesets of DJ's you like, try to believe what they do, and how they do it. Try to believe of how you can apply these techniques in your own sets.

A nice resource you probably already found is ellaskins YouTube channel. The guy is making less to none video's anymore because of personal situation, but the guy is considered to be quite the legend .
