Pioneer XDJ Aero Does Not Support Hot Cues Posted on: 30.09.2012 by Jerica Salava From the Pioneer web site: Is it possible to set the auto beat loop's loop in point ahead of time? The XDJ-AERO is not equipped with a hot cue function, so hot loops set with rekordbox cannot be called out. Net Number : 57 Deal breaker. >

Set a memory cue and be able to get that as starting point in my songs like the memory call in some of their CDJ's. I can be handy to have some points in songs set for easy calling so no need to scrool through a whole song to get to that perfect part to mix into your set. If you like cue jugeling I believe you'll be better of with using Traktor anyway.

Mac Fly 02.10.2012	IMO People not using hot cues are not taking advantage. I dont use them for any major button mashing but the ability to jump straight to a loop, vocals, breakdown whenever you see fit while mixing truely adds another layer of creativity!
Loura Ulam 02.10.2012	I have had my aero now for a month and I love it. Like you shishdisma I must have used the hot cues maybe twice on my cdj1000s. Waveforms are not an issue for me either as I know my songs and where the breakdowns are. For the bedroom the aero is a great bit of kit.

I believe Ive used the hot cues on my 2000s like 5 times, and for things that aren't doable with a standard DVS style hot cue system (which everyone seems weirdly attached to). You guys know how Rekordbox Memory Cues work, right? You get 10 of them per track (or 4, it seems, in the Aero's case), they autoload, you cycle through them with a few buttons, you dont have to mash them or do any button tricks to get them to actually cue rather than start playing right away, I feel like Im taking crazy pills here.

Kandra Fagler 01.10.2012	i am actually getting the xdj aero just so i can jam with rekordbox my usual setup is MBP + X1 or maschine + Audio 6 + timecode cd's i found it very redundant to use timecode cd's, and sometimes setting up can be a hassle when the guy before you and the guy after you and yourself all use different DVS systems (serato/traktor) im believeing to go rekordbox just so i dont need to bring my laptop, and just play off usb's- seems fun

Jerica Salava 01.10.2012	A $1100 controller and a $1200 CD player do not support hot cues. I just thought that is important info I should share on a DJ tech community . I was researching the XDJ-AERO. The "no laptop" setup is enticing. I have watched all the videos and they never mention this. I went through the user's manual PDF and no mention of hotcues. Maybe the buffering on loading prevents the hot cue function. How do you launch a hot cue at 3:42 when the buffer is still at 1:14? I also went to Sam Ash and the XDJ-AERO was stored in the glass case. I asked if I could demo it, and the salesman said "we can't use it because we don't have wi-fi in the store." So apparently, there is some confusion out there with this controller. >
