HELP! Traktor 2.6 & CDJ900 BROKEN!
HELP! Traktor 2.6 & CDJ900 BROKEN! Posted on: 03.11.2012 by Yuko Armacost I upgraded to 2.6 and so far I totally regret it.When I try to connect two CDJ900s the audio routes and the mapping works correctly. However only one CJD900 HID platter will control both decks. I cannot get Deck A to control Track A and I cannot get Deck B to control Deck B. Either Deck A & B controls Track A or Deck A & B controls Track B. This is entirely dependent on which CDJ900 is plugged in first. Again... IT ISN'T THE MIDI. Midi controls on Deck A work on Track A and vise versa. It's the HID that is the problem. How can I control the HID? When I connect the CDJ900's to Traktor 2.6 it now no longer asks me which deck I want to assign the Deck to. Is that wrong? Is this now controlled with software? If it is where? How? And why? I have a radio show in a few days and I need to get this working ASAP or I will have to go back to 2.5 I guess. Just a note HID data is more than just the platter. The Cue and Play buttons and a few others are apparently also controlled over HID. | |

Yuko Armacost 05.11.2012 | I'm in agreement. I rolled back last evening . And the problem was solved! : ) |
Johnetta Olewine 04.11.2012 | just roll back to 2.5. Wayyyyy too much drama for a, from all accounts, fairly unstable and resource hungry update |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | Tara. I tried that. It isn't an option. Traktor chooses which deck is assigned to it. Before 2.6 it was like that. Plug it in, connect, choose which deck to assign to Traktor through the CDJ. Not anymore. I will try to find the advanced options like RJC suggested when I get into the studio next. |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | Radio studio has technicians who service all the gear . If I change any settings or do anything that isn't approved to the booth I run the risk of loosing my time slot and costing the station fees for violating service agreements. If it's a firmware issue I will have to request an update and it will take months. |
Elizabet Sledz 04.11.2012 | You need to have Firmware 3.1 or later installed, 'To select this mode, keep the Utility (Menu) button pressed until the menu shows up. Scroll down to 'Hid setting', click, and make sure 'Advanced' is selected instead of 'Standard'.'(From the Pioneer website). Why can't you update the firmware? You're not losing anything by doing it :S. Seems a bit odd if you ask me |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | How do you switch to advanced HID settings in the CDJ900? |
Cyndy Buatte 04.11.2012 | Have you switched to advanced hid in the settings menu of the cdj? Why cant you update the firmware?....Takes 2 mins |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | Perhaps this is a firmware issue with the CDJs. If that is the case there is no hope for me since I would get in a load of trouble if I updated their firmware for them. |
Cyndy Buatte 04.11.2012 | Works fine here.... 2 x 900s and 2.6.....Nothings changed as far as I can tell |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | Tommy have you attempted this with 2.6 and more than one CDJ900? When I connect two CDJ900s to either my PC or my Mac to 2.6 the CDJs no longer prompt me to connect to either Deck A or Deck B. It would appear that Traktor is automatically assigning the HID controls. I spent close to two hours in the studio and I could not get to the prompt that one used to see with 2.5 and blow. HID selection is now taken over by Traktor. Or am I fundamentally missing something? |
Kandy Ahdoot 04.11.2012 | set CDJ 1 TO DECK A AND CDJ 2 TO DECK B on the actual cdj units |
Yuko Armacost 04.11.2012 | Still broken. Posting for BUMP. |
Yuko Armacost 03.11.2012 | Thanks, I've already attempted the setup wizard and over wrote all my settings. Still nothing working. |
Evie Baghdasarian 03.11.2012 | When I installed 2.6 both sides of my X1 controlled the same deck and performed some really odd functions. Reloading my mappings didn't work. However using the setup wizard and starting from scratch got things back on track for me. Good luck. |
