Midi Channel Spoofer

I'm trying to make a mapping to use with ableton so I can emulate a maschine with drum racks. I have a step sequencer setup that works well where each sound is in it's own track, but I only have 16 buttons to work with. Is there any program that "spoofs" the midi channel before it gets to ableton so I can have track 1 seeing midi in from the controller on channel 1, track 2 seeing channel 2 and so on, then I can switch the channels from the controller (a common control across all midi channels)?

Big request I know, but there's so many programs out there that it could be possible. If not, I'll make a m4l plugin when I get the chance because it will make mapping oh so much easier.
