Their gear doesn't feel so bad though, and it's always easy on the wallet, so if it were just the midi part of the mixer it would be worth considering.

I'm guessin thats gnna be prob at least $999. Prob more. Not that it's a bad price or anything, but if you cant justify spending $1000 on some of the other mixers, would a 4-channel Z4 change ur mind?

Old firewire korg digital mixer that has long been discontinued. It was ahead of its time and good in concept but many were plagued with some issues, there are lots of better 4 channel digital mixers out now. I wasn't thrilled with the feel of it and being firewire only kind of sucked. It was in the same generation as the Ecler Evos which were a lot better in the same era of firewire digital mixers.

I dont have any media player just an X1. I went to GC today, there was a x1600 there and I did not like how the knobs and button felt; the knobs were super loose and the buttons werent too bad but they were not bright enough in dark. The reason why I would want a Z4 9 or djm t2- 4channel)is for the simple fact if down the line I don't like it, it will prob be easier to sell than a denon mixer, and I prob will get worth more of my money. I dont want to have same experience i had with xone dx.

Agree with manchild; no way I would buy a Z4 over a X1600 if I was in the market. Why do you prefer a software mixer to a hardware one anyway? It's useless without a computer (and the software of course), whereas the hardware mixers give you flexibility. The Z2 does look pretty cool and it has a lot more buttons to play with, but you can always add a button pad or something to your setup if you go the hardware mixer route.

But not everyone feels this way obviously or they wouldn't be selling any Z2s....

Korg zero 4 second hand goes for a lot cheaper then that second hand. Lets not forget about the Behringer DDM4000 as well, and yes, obviously the Denon x1600, which by the way is rock solid, and offers something that more then likely will not be in the Z4, built in effects. Honestly, NI has a lot to prove to me w/ the Z2. At this point, NI is known for focusing almost all their attention on adding features, usefull or not, to bring in new customers. It shows in previous hardware, their customer service, and even the Traktor software. So, honestly, the x1600 being battle tested and reliable goes a long way w/ me, and I wouldnt overlook that mixer at that price point.

I meant 1000+. the only digital mixer that is 1000 is denon x1600 i believe, all the others one are 1500+. But a Z4 with 1000 starting price would be nice, cause NI always has special deals and some stores also so I could get a nice discount on it. Ive had a controller fo r less than a year, i was believeing of getting another controller but just does not appeal to me as much anymore

Yea, I cant get myself to spend 1000 dolllars on any mixer right now; just doesnt seem like it would be worth it. I guess if i was bringing in money from it it would be a diff story

Korg Zero 4 has a bunch of features. Personally believe it's wicked cluttered, but thats a personal opinion. They are discontinued, and I hear about quite a few of them breaking. The people that have them and they work, usually love them tho.

I mean mixer without built in effects but that would require a software to use the effects( i am assuming tha tis the reason fo rtheir high price0
I know about most of these mixers; a rane 68 is not happening (serato can kiss my ass) with their overpriced shits.
the djm t1 is 699, so if two more channels got added, i would hope it would be 799 ...or 899
the z2 is 799, with 2 more channels , maybe 899

Ah man the zero4 is a beast, have one myself. Superb midi mapability with midi mode and hybrid mode (both midi and audio at the same time)

or a DJM 850 or Korg Zero 4 or a Denon 1600? All are midi mapable. The Rane 68 prob most resembles ur pic
