Broken rotary encoder knob on x1
Broken rotary encoder knob on x1 Posted on: 16.01.2012 by Alla Bluemke So someone knocked my x1 off a table and well a knob busted off. Does anyone know where I can possibly order a replacement pot? I believe I might try giving it a re-soldering but i cant seem to pin point the same style pot. I'm out of warranty hence why I figured I might as well open this puppy up, plus it's not exactly a warranty issue since negligence isn't usually covered. I didn't know if anyone on here knew where to order the part from possibly. Luckily it's only a loop knob but if I can fix it why not. Unless someone else has a bright idea! | |

Ulysses Vittetoe 09.12.2012 | Report back on which one ended up being the right one so we know. |
Ema Screws 08.12.2012 | Damn Cause this would be Perfect for my Mapping if i had 2 endelss Encoder ! 😪 |
Lisa Lochotzki 08.12.2012 | nope, not without hardware/firmware modification. Normal potentiometer send a 0-5 volt to the micro controller on a singles pin, VS encoder sends 2 pulsed signals whose, once decoded, indicated if you turn the control clockwise or counter clockwise. |
Ema Screws 07.12.2012 | cause i want 2x 360 rotary encoder like the loop rotary on the X1 instead of the normal "key" rotary (with a stop on both sides) in my VCI-100. Is this possible ? |
Ema Screws 07.12.2012 | I know the thread is old but I want to have such encoder (with no ending on my vci 100) is this possible ? |
Cliff Lohman 16.01.2012 | Thnx! |
Alla Bluemke 16.01.2012 | Not sure if its exactly the same but it looks damn close http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...398-ND/2620667 also ordered this one. I'm not sure which one will work though. http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...768-ND/1923363 They should both work, but I'm looking for the closes match. |
Cliff Lohman 16.01.2012 | Can u give me link to the one u ordered? Im believeing this might be same i need for maschine knob replacement. |
Alla Bluemke 17.01.2012 | Perfect order a few of them incase I blew it when soldering it and also ordered a couple other ones just in case I grabbed the wrong heights and lengths. |
Alla Bluemke 17.01.2012 | Awesome thanks I believe I found what I needed I ordered a couple incase I screwed up and a few other styles incase it was the wrong one. |
Alla Bluemke 17.01.2012 | Yeah its the right loop encoder. I'll def look on digikey. Thanks for the advice! |
Lisa Lochotzki 16.01.2012 | You'll definitely find a similar one @ Digikey. You'll need to scroll through their list and narrow the results until you find the right one. Looks like a pretty generic rotary encoder. |
Latoria Kavulich 16.01.2012 | man thats a bugger mate. thats the right loop encoder right. |
