What is some good free mixing software?

Looking to experiment with some tunes and tracks. Dubstep is 1st on the list just because I have a friend who enjoys it so what's some good, free mixing software? Any drum machines out there?

"Studio One Free" gives you a lot of features for free. Definitely worth a try!
The "fingerlab DM01" is a nice drum machine app for IOS devices. It's free as well!

I pieced together a pretty fun and totally free DAWesque setup in Linux a few months ago before I switched back to win7 & ableton.

Harmonyseq was the sequencer I used to control everything.
Nekobee was my favorite synth and I always had a couple of them ready to go.
Fluid synth is good, and if you install ubuntu studio it comes with a bunch of pretty cool synth plugins
Used hydrogen for drums. (there is currently a bug in hydrogen that stalls it for a bit if you change patterns, so i just sequence them in harmonyseq.)

Jackrack or rackarack for effects (I prefer jackrack)
audacity for recording
Patchbay for changing up the audio flow

Every DAW has a perfectly usable demo. Some, like Reaper, are unlimited and can be used even after the 2 month trial ends.

third

And if you aren't afraid of linux I'd recommend hydrogen. It's ported to mac/windows but the linux version is more stable IMO
