MIDI Fighter replacement light tubes?
Posted on: 27.09.2010 by Jone Andres
Does anyone know of a way to order replacement light tubes for the MIDI Fighter? One of mine somehow broke and fell out (maybe I hit a button too hard? I dunno) and so the light for that button is inconsistent with the rest. Any ideas?

i already tried looking it up, but all i get is industrial size plastic tubes that need to be fabricated. Hardware and hobby stores dont sell them either or anything that would fit. Im guessing these guys at djranking s get them cut specifically for the midifighter.

I know its just cheap plastic tubing, but even though i bought a new top, new buttons, and rubber case...my midifighter still looks ghetto cause some of the plastic light rods are missing.

Hey Bryan,

The screws are just 8mm CSK M3 hex screws in black, any M3 counter sunk screw should work fine (as long as is between 7 mm and 15 mm)

The standoffs (metal shafts) are discontinued are we are now working on a new supplier, hence I cant help you there.

cool, could I get the part numbers for the the bottom and top screws and spacers. I took a midifighter apart to change a top and lost a small screw, but I wanted to just buy a few spare parts from the mouser website just in case. I have to order some led tubes anyway. My midifighter has been disassembled for about a year, and I kind of want to start using it again.

Mouser just has an issue with getting the data right when adding products the LMC100CTP is the correct light pipe for what we use.

We dont do individual parts as spares - but if you ever need anything just ask and I can give you part numbers for mouser.

Thanks for sorting that Photojojo!

Upon further examination (and after a few cups of coffee) I discovered it was relatively easy to slide one out. And you are correct, they are 1.003" long.

Correct length

Ah! I knew it was light pipes but i didn't believe to add LED, my google search came up with nothing but those mirror tubes you put in your roof to let sunlight in

I have a feeling they're longer than 0.8" but I may be wrong.

Okay they are more specific than just acrylic tubing and they're called LED light pipes. I believe these are the ones DJTT use. Mine have an OD of 2.5 mm, but it's hard to measure the length without pulling the MF apart. I'm pretty sure they're 0.8" long though.

EDIT: they are 1" long. I've edited this link to the correct one.

I believe there's a reason, otherwise they'd sent it out already.

I'm surprised they wouldn't send one out for the price of the shipping. The customer service is normally very good!
