Midi Fighter Button Socket
Midi Fighter Button Socket Posted on: 22.03.2011 by Blair Turick I've been working on making an arduino based Midi Fighter like device. While i could solder all the buttons in, I really like the sockets i see in the pictures on the midi fighter. So that the buttons just get pushed into the holes, and they sit on the bottom and make the connection. As i don't have a Midi Fighter I can't see what exactly is acting as the socket to make the connection. If someone could either post close up picks, or if anyone knows exactly what they are and how i can replicate them that would be awesome!Thanks | |

Probably easier just to solder? Anyway, the reason I looked at these connectors was because it'd be sweet if they were sold with wires already attached (and the other of the wire attached to a pin header or something). Would make DIY midi controllers much easier to assemble (and more modular)... |

I haven't got a midifighter but I imagine the midifighter pcb has got these connectors soldered directly to the circuit board? Incidentally, I bought some of these very connectors from Maplins recently... pretty handy way of connecting up a load of arcade buttons without having to do any soldering. You need a crimping tool though :/ |
