Spectra - Jam-Meister 3K

Tekki & I are working on a 3 bank (at this stage) mapping for the Spectra.

Bank 1 is my version of the second "flavour" on Ean's Jam On It for the MF3D. I have removed some features, added others. Most FX utilise super knobs and are more subtle & organic in nature than the typical IG type mappings.

Bank 2 is the Transport section. Includes a beat-phase monitor on the play buttons, Loop active indicator and track end warning in the top quadrants.

Bank 3 is the Browser section

... definitely a work in progress at this stage, we plan on releasing the first version that works on 2.5.1 and 2.6+ very soon!

Yeah, somehow I forget to take time to map that correctly.

(When bashing buttons, I start and end up mixing tunes long!)

a few more tweaks to come and i am working on a preview video soon (have been a bit busy running in the new cans)
i asked tekki to add an intermittent flashing red to the record toggle.

This mapping looks amazing!

what i like about it is depending on what other gear you have, you may only use 1 or 2 of the banks. for example, i am finding this to be awesome for quickly prepping a set with the browser controls and basic transport functions. there are some fantastic detailed mappings out there for the spectra, but tekki and me believe that for most people, a functional and relatively simple map would be perfect.
flashflooder has just released a new one on the mappings site called "FX Squared" as well.

Wow, looks like a phenomenal Spectra mapping. Can't wait!

should be ready for the public release soon, just some minor adjustments and additions in the background

We have some instant grat in the first FX bank, if I am right.

Update finished; all 4 banks are mapped.

The real fun starts now:

Tweaking and mashing!

update with the 4th bank.

True that. It started as an idea to enable users to control traktor almost out of the box.

Cheers mate! This way we have all users happy

That, Minister of Mapping, title's there for a reason, dammit!

With this mapping we want to keep it as simple as possible for users new to MIDI(controllers?). So the mapping must remain clean and easy to use.

Could do fancy schmancy stuff, or stuff that would challenge us, like your mappings do most of the times, but we tried to keep it as organic as possible.

Right but I like it that way, pushing mapping potential to max. Ultimate

05.03.2013
Hahahahaha, okay.... That's way more advanced than we're aiming for, tbh.
Kellie Myrum
05.03.2013
I know... But would be different here, because deck and mix bank will have at least eight sub banks where mixer will be included in one of them

Cool, It's nothing too rich though... just the bare necessities.

05.03.2013
Nice! Having a mixer controls was one of my ideas as well.

Yups... tweaking speed is there, only what I'm tweaking... :P

LoLz, bear with us.... it will be teh awesome... When done, you might even not need a mixer.
Latoria Kavulich
05.03.2013
more tweaks, and bank 4 is going to be a basic mixer section with crossfader, automated volume faders and eq kills!
Latoria Kavulich
24.02.2013
back in tekki's hands again ... lets see what he wants to add or tweak. my mapping skills are quite rusty but i had a decent jam today and so far this certainly passes my thrash test. sounds fantastic with psytrance and the transport and browse functions are quite intuitive. my thing is this needs to be "drunk friendly"
Kellie Myrum
23.02.2013
Pardon me, guess I overlooked that

Definitely looking forwards to this!

its blank at this stage mate

And 4th bank stays open?

Yeah, it will be teh awesome!

First some test bash sesh'es to try and kill it. If it still lives afterwards, it should get a "go live amongst the buttonmashers" pretty soon!
