As far as the way he preforms it, I believe it just a showcase of his personality, creativity and/or talent. Maybe it's over the top or corny for some, but it's called "showmanship" for a reason. Does Craze have to crossfade or pitchbend with is back? Deadmau5 wear a mouse head? Skrillex need a spaceship to perform in? no. Its all done to bring the crowd more into the performance. Now if the music or routine suffers from it, then maybe there is a problem. IMO, if you're asked to create a routine, that is to be performed, to a crowd, whats wrong with him being happy to do it his way.
this! maybe he over did the antics, but it was still a great mix and definitely not worthy of the amount of hatred its getting :\

He could have won without that bollocks.

And I'm not saying it's a bad routine by any means, let me have my opinion... Thanks.

Yeah sure mate, opinion away!
Just making some banter, nothing to get bent outta shape about huh?

Agreed, he could have won without it. I wouldn't wanna see a guy doing that in club during his set.

Personally, I thought that was kinda lame.

I doubt this guy would actually DJ a set at a club like that.
If you give it a chance, u will understand what he is trying to bring across.
Someone who has no clue about DJing....and is not cool. He is supposed to be a brainiak, that is learning the gear as he goes, and discovers what it can do and get excited.

It's a little story....

I guess it's just not cool....fuckin Hipsters!!

Lol

Way too serious....

The thing that annoyed me the most was that pathetic clapping he did when something sounded good, I mean come on. Stop trying to be cute, it's just cringey.

I appreciate the show he put on, thats what DJs are supposed to do these days, you're an entertainer, and when people can't see you/or understand what you're actually doing on the decks, and don't understand difficulty, then you have to achieve it in some other means.

If you have no show/crowd interaction (aka Tiesto) then your live shows suck, recently here in Australia he was a headliner for a festival and a lot of people left mid-way through his show and went and saw Major Lazer... why? because it's more entertaining.

People are stupid, deal with it.

I believe people aren't really getting what I'm on about.

Yes, it's a good routine. But I'd much rather see him act sensibly and focused than trying to look childish and cutesy behind the decks. I didn't find what he was doing entertaining at all. It just made me cringe.

But yes of course it does sound good.

for what it's worth, i thought it was bang on! people shouldn't take shit like this too seriously and should try to appreciate it for what it is.

would he have as many haters if this was the DMC championships?

I just believe the whole pretending to be a geek believeing it's cute thing is so corny.
Asia for ya' nuff said.

What works over here might not necessarily work in other Countries, FFS guys and girls get braces here for cosmetic reasons - not to strighten their teeth

Loved the vid, awesome to see a guy thats so comfortable with his gear and trade that he can put on a show like that while playing a stomper set.

The "headphone mic" near the end was cool and wicked ending to the routine Well Deserved win IMHO.

Its a showcase ya'll......

Everyone tries to be an individual....let him be.

If it causes him to NOT get gigs....so be it...

LOL....bloody hell.....I don't believe he was trying to win a popularity test.
