you can do a limited amount of tweaking on the the yamahas while on the m-audios you can't. if that's not a concern you are fine with the m-audios.

HS80M user here. Couldn't be happier. I own a set of KRK RP8's too and I'd rather listen to my Yamaha's. One thing to remember, the port is on the rear of these speakers. Placing them right up against a wall or corner drastically effects the bass response. If you shop around you can find a set of HS80's for 500$ delivered online.

LOVE my BX8's. Sound fantastic and are well made.
