Nurmark Goes Wireless?
Nurmark Goes Wireless? Posted on: 23.01.2013 by Antoinette Harbst http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/23/n...j-controllers/Nurmark is releasing updates of their Mixtrack, iDJLive, NS7, and releasing what looks like a Midi Fighter 3d meets a Simon Says called Orbit. But more interesting is that they're going with the units wireless. What's your say on this? numark.jpg My opinions: Being a Nurmark fan boy, I typically hold them to a higher plane than most others. They're great, just basic. I like the direction they went with the Mixtrack. Having the pads is awesome, and it looks thinner and easier to lug around. I'm still personally waiting for a 4 channel Mixtrack. The Orbit looks like it might be neat to just have and show off but practically speaking, having a jogwheel on a "handheld" controller seems somewhat backwards. You're going to be holding it with one hand, and scratching with the other? I guess if you're good with no crossfader. I'd picture the Orbit is more for just hot cuing/effects. Now the wireless-ness. It's going to be something special to be able to go in the crowd and djing, but much with anything wireless, there's going to be some latency. My fear is what happens if you're djing and step out of your range? And are the buttons are going to have any sort of delay even with fine tuning on your system? | |

Upclose they look a little bit better, grooved so they don't slip that easy. That is a plus.

Jerica Salava 24.01.2013 | That new Mixtrack Pro looks like a Vestax Spin 2/Pioneer WeGO KILLER ! Those big buttons are nice. > |
Dick Korus 24.01.2013 | Even though the psp looks like a toy, it defiantly has potential. Someone just needs to map the shit out of it and it would be a pretty dope cheap midi fighter like controller |

Inez Marcinik 24.01.2013 | Man, numark really need to get people that actually DJ to start selling their products, it's so cringey |
Awilda Boggie 24.01.2013 | Like I said before: it has something of the Pioneer RMX, maybe someone could mod it, skin it so it' looks better? |

Doreen Schurle 24.01.2013 | Looks like a better looking, not ridiculously overpriced MF3D. It's a big thumbs up from me. |

Libbie Orion 23.01.2013 | yea know what yea i completely got stuck on the USB location plugged in You are correct that it can go wireless ( i wonder if there is any latency or timelaps where it needs to reload once the USB is unplugged) never the less there was a comment above from Davoh
But this seems like both a step forward and backward.
i would say the same as a step back if i were only loooking at it from a higher technologically inclined user like you and me. We use devices that are WAY above the capabilities of these things. Now look at it from the point of view of a beginning user. Someone who is NOT in the "know" I can see where this fits in and from a company's developmental standpoint you have to take into account, that when you finally produce a new piece of tech, you can test it out in house for a long time without even noticing its limitations or knowing what exactly would be the next step for the device. This way, in this product, it can be released to the public and we can basically BETA test the hell out of it while the big bosses watch and learn where it went wrong and what i needs to be BETTER. Im actually thumbs up with this device, and not because i can see myself using it Honestly i dont believe ill ever get one because at my level as well as many others, this would be a flash in the pan device to use which we would most likely drop into EBAY only a few months after opening the box. Good work, but not really for me |
Latoria Kavulich 23.01.2013 | Should be in the next rendition of the MF3D. |

Libbie Orion 23.01.2013 | yea know what i have been watching technology like this for so long i cant remember when it all started But as a start off (to release in spring 2013) this "toy" as it seems might be just the tip of the iceberg for them Yes i do agree that the USB placement is a bit well..... LEFT HANDED i mean, look at where it is. Most people will use it right handed I am left handed so i would slip it over my RIGHT hand and the USB would trail along my arm i have more to say about this but ill post it up later |
Rubye Feicht 23.01.2013 | Is it just me or the MTP jogs look cheap as hell? |
Awilda Boggie 23.01.2013 | it's like the case of a PSP enlarged.. too bad it's looks like a toy... somehow it reminds me of the Pioneer RMX-1000 but a toy version.. Numark should put me in charge of design.. |

Danae Dumler 23.01.2013 | For $99 this is like a cheap MF3D with a giant effects wheel, extra buttons, and an arm strap. I might have to get one of these. |
