How do I get it fixed? I'm going to ask Pioneer support. I'm pretty disappointed. I have not even actually used this mixer since when I got it almost 19 months ago, because my computer broke just about when I got my DJM-900 I had never figure it out. good day to you |

Seems like there maybe a bad connection or it may need replacing - either the stylus and/or the cartridge. Also, makar1 said something about the grounding indicator coming on. On one of my turntables this indicator is frequently on more then it is off. But yet I've always got both tables securely grounded (at least outside, maybe not inside the table). I don't hear any effects of this indicator being lit up though using TC or vinyl. Have you ever had problems with that before? Wonder what I'm missing? |

Chuck Peretto 29.11.2013 | I know you hate to hear it, but it seems like you have exhausted every other option as far as trying to isolate the problem. Seems like you maybe correct in blaming your mixer. I just was under the impression that the mixer was working fine before you got your new MBP with Mavericks. |
Alphonso Deitchman 29.11.2013 | If you are having problems with other audio sources and have ruled out problems with your speakers/headphones, it must be a fault with the mixer. Contact the place you bought it from to start with. |

Thank you. |
Rufus Ondrick 20.11.2013 | based on your last post it might not be an issue with your turntable if audio signal is going through your mixer to your computer with a different device but with the same result then it might be your mixer or i could be totally wrong and its your needle |
Alphonso Deitchman 20.11.2013 | I've never had a problem with sound quality with my 900. No distortion with effects either. What mixer firmware are you on? |
Sulema Holzer 20.11.2013 | Last evening
I got to spend another couple hours checking my mixer connections by sound passing from a different device other then using as a sound card on my mac. By using a jack to rca cable I plug in an ipod to the cd/line input to tests agains my headphones directly to the ipod itself tried every input on my mixer and found out that I had a grainier sound when listening thru the mixer I've also tried to apply some mild effects like echo and delay and I got a distortion with the echo like I was using "crush" the same artifacts on delay, very distorted spetially when twisting the time knob with it the echo on. I'm know it its not supposed to sound like this for a fact. it can't be that bad, so before I when ahead and buy a new set of needles I may ask. Have you guys ever tried to do this before ? Can you check on the sound quality of your djm900 mixer when doing this? I also used this jack to rca cable to plug the turntable into my headphone chances are my record don't sound so bad, and I may have to replace the needle but before I do that $ I'm more concerned with the DJM-900 being faulty somehow. How else can I check? I put it thru another cable as well on the test mentioned as well same results. Thank you |
Alphonso Deitchman 20.11.2013 | From the scopes it looks more like an issue with the signal from the turntables, either worn needles/vinyl or interference from ground issues. The 900 drivers haven't been updated for years and they work fine for me on Mavericks, Mountain Lion, and Windows 7. |
Chuck Peretto 20.11.2013 | Sounds like you are hopefully making progress with NI and hopefully it is not a compatibility problem on their end, but maybe a driver issue with your mixer? As far as what you should do in regards to grounding, I was saying that I'm clueless in that area, because I ground my TTs to my mixer too, yet I still get a grounding indicator light on Tractor more often then not. My believeing was that you may have a cartridge or more likely a needle that maybe on the way down and need replacing. But that was only from seeing your scope view on the video. Also, like chriswoods said - might consider the TC vinyl could be worn out if you have been using it for a long time. Hope you hear back from Pioneer and they can give you an update on the compatibility with their mixer and Mavericks. |
Teresia Janusch 19.11.2013 | does the timecode sound clean when you play it out through the speakers? Also when you life the needle is there any buzzing? it looks like as well as some interference one of the channels Left or Right is not fully there, or the phase is wrong…which would point back to the cart |
Sulema Holzer 19.11.2013 | Interesting Chelan, maybe you would should give an example or tell me specifically what I need to do because I grounded the tt on the mixer. Thanks |
Sulema Holzer 19.11.2013 | I dont know as well man, I can say that I have tried to plug my mixer in a different outlet then the amp and the turntables. just to avoid an electrical loop but still. I did used my gear before very seldom because when i got my mixer my 2008 mpb broke, that was, you know, not ideal. Thanks |

Alphonso Deitchman 17.11.2013 | Your scopes look very noisy (interference), and the grounding error indicator came on briefly at 0:25. Are all your devices connected to the same ground point? |
Sulema Holzer 17.11.2013 | Here is a Short screen capture of the Calibration process and how it Fails and how the scopes are looking like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkgOx...ature=youtu.be I hope that helps Thanks |
Sulema Holzer 16.11.2013 | makar1 I'll be posting pictures of my scopes tomorrow. sunday. Thanks |

Sulema Holzer 16.11.2013 | Thank you all for your comments, please keep them cumming, Let's figure it out why the fastest MacBook Pro one can buy and the DJM-900 club standard mixer are not working with Traktor because as of right now If was not for you guys help I would have heard nothing from N.I or Pioneer on the subject. - ps: I'm feeling like a looser with all this useless expensive gear. |
Sulema Holzer 16.11.2013 | Yep Ross, that's the correct method. I did try booth ways, line on the turntable using line/cd in on the mixer & phono grounded using the phone in on the mixer mixer utilities set to phono/timecode. I got the same frustrating results. |

Alphonso Deitchman 16.11.2013 | Try turning off your "preamps" and using them through Phono instead. |
