Buying Technics - where to look at?
Posted on: 05.02.2012 by Viviana Tarno
Hi there,

Soon I will be looking for buying a set of Technics. As these will be my first experience with turntables, I was wondering where I should pay attention to for checking the quality of the turntables. Are there things I really need to look at?

Mission accomplished:

2x Technics SL-1200 MK2 + dust covers + original manuals all in mint condition. The seller was the first owner of the tables, checked everything listed in the tutorials posted above and everything looked perfect. Dateq XTC mixer is fine as well. The TTS got a set of Concorde Ortofon needles on it, also got a spare pair of Stanton 500-IIs with it. Also got the custom-built white unit with it (with legs of course) and about 200 early hardstyle vinyls. And that for 750 euros

This is amazing. No NS7 can beat this...

That videos a really good guide, pretty much spot on. This link is a good guide as well. Have a look at the check list at the bottom.

Probably within i a few miles of either Xonetacular or Nicadraus, they both seem to posses a Technics-attraction-field generator.

I was more looking for advice on how to check the quality of the turntables. I know where to find the stuff, not exactly how to check if it still works correctly

Craigslist, ebay and any other local online selling sites at your area.
