4 CDJs with Traktor?

4 CDJs with Traktor?

How, or is it even, possible to connect 4 cdjs and a mixer to your laptop using Traktor? I've seen it done with 2 but cannot remember ever seeing 4.

It only has two sets of preamps so it can only support two timecode vinyl decks but you can do two TTs and two CDJs or 4 CDJs.

There are only a very small handful of DJs who pull off 4 deck mixing at all that doesn't sound like crap and they all either use traktor and sync or use straight CDJs.

Totally agree on that point. Still, it's possible

Well, not really. If the laptop and the soundcard are already plugged into "power" (don't know what's the exact word for that but you got my point), plus the soundcard hooked to the laptop, pluging the RCAs can be done in litterally 5 secs per CDJ. You just need to have your cables organized in a special way.

A guy made a video on youtube about that, but I can't find it anymore. I asked about it in the "General discussion", so it's here, aroud.
OP, if you really plan to use CDJs with timecode at venues, i'll try to make one.

I have a very hard time believing you would actually use/benefit from 4 timecode decks.

You would also need traktor scratch pro and an audio 8/10. If you are actually going to use 4 decks just sync which it sounds like you are going to do anyway so why bother with timecode at all?

You should be able to do it in HID mode cause you can select Decks A-D in the scroll on CDJ 2000s I believe. Just gotta aggregate all the sound cards.

For sure with timecode and an audio 8 or 10.

I own a Kontrol X1, so I don't get in that position. Like I said before, just go for a controller. I don't care about BPM, since I just adjust that with the X1 or manually in Traktor. Phase Meter is perfectly on the X1 .

will i be able to control bpms of the track so I'm not stuck manually beatmatching i could get through a set doing it but would rather have the assist of the bpms on the traktor display and match them.

definitely possible...Either with timecodes or in HID mode...

I know for a fact that you can run 2 cdjs without a soundcard in traktor in HID mode aggregated, not positive on the 4 though. Cant see why not.

Going to need a NI Audio 8 or 10 to run with timecodes...

assuming you're using timecode... it is possible with the proper soundcard... Audio 8 or Audio 10.

In HID, can't tell, I would say yes.
