traktor 2.5 upgrade question
Posted on: 02.04.2012 by Roseanne Torstenson
Hey guys, quick question here... I currently have traktor scratch duo 2 and was planning on upgrading to traktor scratch pro 2 soon which would have cost $78 for the upgrade. Well since the release of all the news today involving the changes with products, I no longer see the traktor scratch pro upgrade. All I see on the NI Site now is the audio 10 upgrade package. So what would you all recommend for me to upgrade? I have an audio 6 so i really don't want to have to purchase new hardware just for the upgrade. I did notice they were saying users could upgrade for free to traktor pro 2 does that include the scratch upgrade as well? Thanks in advance for the help!

I doubt that. But there must be a strictly software upgrade from TP2 to TSP2 available on NI site i believe.

The upgrade thing etc with all version of Traktor is confusing, can't really help on that one.

Hey sterilize -

I'm a TSD 2 user too. Just wanted to say good question you brought up. I wasn't believeing and just assumed that since we were scratch users, the update to TSP 2 would be free and a no brainer. I would have been frustrated to just find that all I get is the TP 2 upgrade. Thanks for the help with the work arounds and the right way to get TSP 2 as manchild and jamthrax pointed out.

I have not done the update yet, but probably will in the next week or 2. Hopefully it comes as easy as you guys described. So you guys that have updated to TSP 2 are you liking it? Do you find yourselves overwhelmed at all yet? Do you find yourselves wishing you had the A10? Just some things I was wondering about. Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the help everyone! I did what has already been mentioned and upgraded through my service center and now have traktor scratch pro! I would like to add though that the update in my Service Center did not say scratch pro. It appeared as a basic update for my traktor and once I ran the update and opened up Traktor, there I saw the Traktor Scratch Pro across the tite bar.

download the 2.1.3 update in service center. After you install that, when you open up traktor it will be Traktor Scratch Pro 2

I looked on my service center and saw no where that I could upgrade my duo. I guess i'm going to email NI and see whats up. I've searched through the 2.5 updates again on NI's website and it seems like duo has just disappeared from their collection now. I'll keep everyone posted, I assume there will be other Duo users wanting an upgrade soon enough.

I could be wrong but I imagine since you already have a scratch license it's likely that you will be given a scratch pro 2 license. Otherwise they wouldn't be supporting a current version of traktor you had purchased, they can't do away with duo without giving you another option.
