Sounds crazy, but...do MIDI turntables exist?
Sounds crazy, but...do MIDI turntables exist? Posted on: 06.08.2012 by Sanjuanita Ramaley So, I've been looking into switching to analog gear controlling Traktor (mixing externally) down the road. I'd use two CDJs and MIDI map the tempo faders, play and cue buttons to Traktor. But right now I own a 1210 and am learning to scratch. The idea of using two CDJs in place of my S4's jog wheels and cue and play buttons, and also having turntables...it's a ridiculous notion. I'd need a DJ table the size of the one at the last supper, for one. So I was wondering, are there any turntables out there (normal, analog turntables) whose buttons (pitch faders, play, bpm) are MIDI mappable in the same way that most CDJs' buttons are? I'm guessing the answer is no... | |

Lauretta Ehrhorn 11.08.2012 | This was a great mod and if brave enough you could have a go yourself http://community .djranking s.com/showthr...light=technics |
Hanna Ridenbaugh 09.08.2012 | I had an otus and loved it, I'm even considering going back to it. Solid sound card, lovely to touch and works. |

Shame about the douchey two tone design, but you could paint it or get a skin to make it look a little plainer. That's as close as you will come to a midi turntable... If you are syncing then the pitch fader should be of no concern as the software overrides the hardware. That said you should learn to beatmatch if you are using turntables, It makes it much more enjoyable when you get it right. |
Verona Spradlin 08.08.2012 | The Vestax decks only have the pitch MIDI mappable I believe (The PDX3000s and the Controller 1). Your best bet would be some Super OEMs or Numark TTXs which have +/- 8%, 10%, 20%, and 50%. |
Tania Somppi 07.08.2012 | Some of the Vestax decks have some midi functions M5Gs and a lot of the super OEMs have more than +/- 8 pitch range |
Dorcas Bassignani 07.08.2012 | Yeah, that'd be the only option available |
Sanjuanita Ramaley 06.08.2012 | Honestly I believe I'd just go modular and map two free faders on one of my controllers to Traktor's pitch faders. |
Sanjuanita Ramaley 06.08.2012 | Because I need more range than the 1200s give me, and I sync tracks in Traktor. |
Dorcas Bassignani 06.08.2012 | why'd you need to map the pitch faders? |
Sanjuanita Ramaley 06.08.2012 | 2 more words: good, point. more still: I'm, dumb. So that solves my cue point issue (quite simply), but the pitch faders still present a problem. |
Dorcas Bassignani 06.08.2012 | 2 words, Novation. Dicer |
