Is white vinyl more prone to extreme vinyl crackles ? Posted on: 25.12.2012 by Nereida Jasnoch So I got a new batch of vinyl a last weekend and there was a white record with it.There is one section of the record with lots of crackles, the crackles are even louder than the song itself. Also the record was new, quite a recent release, not second hand. It is really quite bothersome those crackles, much more noticeable than the other crackles you usually get with vinyl. Is it because it's white vinyl ? And is there anything I can do ? | |

Augustine Mitzen 25.12.2012 | might be faulty press |
Edwina Fagel 25.12.2012 | Isn't coloured vinyl made of different coloured raw material? I don't believe that they dye it later. |
Annalisa Shogren 25.12.2012 | It's something to do with the dye they use and the effect it has on the grooves or something. Black is top for sound quality but as I said before, it's probably not worth worrying over. It might just be a filthy piece of vinyl, so get some wood glue. |
Edwina Fagel 25.12.2012 | Never heard of shittier quality with coloured disks, but picture disks do really sound worse. |
Annalisa Shogren 25.12.2012 | Apparently coloured vinyl is worse for sound quality. But it's probably negligible. |
Mabel Sumling 26.12.2012 | not in my experience...all vinyl is pretty much the same. |
