The difference between using my 2000s in HID vs timecode is evening and day; you get so much more precision and functionality with HID.

it depends on how you use them...ive stuck with my cdj800mk1s which i use with timecode for traktor

There is a slight lag on timecode too, after using timecode for years it felt weird having more direct jog control, but that was only for 5 minutes lol. If you want a future proof deck go for the 2000 nexus as I cannot see anything else you would need on a deck in the future.
Partner them with a couple of vinyl decks and you can play everything

If u wanna use HID mode or usb sticks, then yes definately. either cdj 900s/2000s/2000 nexus.

If cds, theres not much big advantage.

I find timecode cds on cdj1000s, alil dodgy. E.g. cue-ing makes the record jump a lil front/back and not returning to the cue point.
