Hailey Westen 10.01.2011 | i wouldnt know about them creative surround sound cards, ive used to M-Audio sound card, and a Numark DJ IO (even cheaper than the Audio DJ2) and both work fine. the only thing with the numark is there is no hardware volume control, so ya gotta do it in the software as the S4 hardware cue volume dont work. but the cue cross fader mix works fine. and even though its cheap, it works great and is stable. unlike the S4's in built cards maybe if you need it, get the audio dj4 or 8, depends on what you need for your set up really |

Candace Carmouche 10.01.2011 | these threads were a major motivating factor for me buying a vci-300. i really wanted an s4, but reading they are spending a LOT of time on the bridge for itch to make it cpu friendly so both itch and ableton can run i figured.... i got an ipad, theres my ableton controller. may as well go that route and get basically the same thing with all kinds of stability. |
Torrie Blacker 10.01.2011 | I have it on my Vista 32 bit running on a Toshiba laptop 2Ghz with 3Gb RAM and I get the same thing as IrishBlaggard. Running great, then drop outs. I have tried everything on the Vista tuning tips and it seems like it is getting worse (or my expectations are getting higher with each set of changes!). Almost at giving up stage as I save... |
Janyce Henningson 30.12.2010 | I have it installed on my desktop pc as well as my macbook and it runs no problems at all. Windows 7 64 bit Pro Intel i5 750 @ 3.8 Ghz 8Gb DDr3 Ram SSD Hard Drive Antivirus on, browser open etc and runs fine with 4 decks and effects |
Daisy Dotseth 30.12.2010 | no probs yet Dell 2ghz 2gb ram running xp Vista makes anything run badly so i would recommend moving to XP or Win7 (Win 7 is a heap more resource hungry than xp though) |

Hailey Westen 30.12.2010 | a vista user, done everything and disabled everything i can believe off. everything runs great with out a single clip or audio drop out issue UNTIL i get what seems to be random spikes and i mean MAJOR spikes, its so annoying, its like everything distorts and chokes up sometimes it can go for hours with out a glitch but almost all the time its a complete evening mare. if someone can please tell me how to fix this that would be great. ive done everything thats been reccomended on all community s that ive seen, but i cant fix this spike issue ive almost fully given up on it to be honest, mainly due to the fact that the costumer services end of it is a complete joke. the S4 is great when working and i love it BUT so fustrating when it aint. if i were you, i would wait until there is new drivers for windows. mines basicly sitting there collecting dust until they release new driver updates or i can afford a mac. |
