Importing Loopmasters samples into S4/T Pro 2 library Posted on: 08.02.2011 by Johnsie Kingrea Hey everyone I was wondering if someone could offer some insight to this.So I have a bunch of disco house loops from loopmasters. What I've noticed is that when I put them into the sample slots they eventually fall out of sync and need to be resynced. Is there any simple way to make sure the grid is proper without having to load the loops into the main deck, gridding it, then looping and sampling into the slot? Has anyone else ran into this issue | |

I don't believe there's anything you can do about that, short of using your master clock. However, I could be wrong. |

Keturah Nooney 07.02.2011 | I've ran into this as well, specifically with Loopmaster loops. Method #1: As Yul suggested, after loading them into a standard deck and slightly tweaking the beatgrid and/or detected bpm, you can tighten them up. On several, just the detected BMP is a bit off. You can set the master clock to any bpm, turn on the metronome, set the deck containing the loop to the same bpm (with sync off) and adjust the beatgrid and detected bpm until everything stays in time. Finally, set the file as a "loop" or "one shot" in the browser and load in a sample slot as usual. Method #2: Load into a standard deck and start a loop at the very beginning of the sample for a set number of beats. Then, copy the deck down to a sample slot. Play it three times and let it save. I've found this to mess up my track organization in a hurry (all samples are saved in a "samples" folder versus the folder of the source loop file). Method #3: Warp the loop file in Ableton Live and export. This isn't as hard as you might believe and offers a ton of control. Of course, you have to have Ableton which isn't cheap. In general, I've found the sample slots sorta frustrating to use. |
Mariano Godina 07.02.2011 | Agreed, loops from a credible sample library should be tight already. I'm going to investigate this myself. Will post back with what i find. Personally i like to use my own pre made loops and loops from tracks ive been playing. A lot of times i will drop a loop from deck A into a sample slot, and i'll leave it there for ages, using it here and there, and it still stays in sync even half an hour later. Granted i'm not going from 130bpm to 150bpm, i'm generally going between 122-128, never the less it stays in sync all the time. (Maybe mine are staying in sync because ive beat gridded my tracks?) |

Kecia Wnukowski 07.02.2011 | Yes it happens so you need to put them within a track deck and put a beatgrid, set the length needed and then copy it to the sample slot so it will be stored in the right format after 3 times played. It's a bit of a workaround really, painful but it works. |
Johnsie Kingrea 07.02.2011 | This happens slowly even when the tempo remains the same. I believe the grid is slightly off when the loops are imported. |
Dewey Melchi 08.02.2011 | I read S4/T Pro 2 in the topic and I launched Service Center and google just to see if it came out. Thanks for the boner tease =/ To stay on topic, couldn't he just switch to Deck C/D and hit sync? As dumb as that sounds, I'm not at home so I can't try it out before I show my stupidity. |
