Hooking Up A Turntable to the S4
Hooking Up A Turntable to the S4 Posted on: 16.02.2011 by Gustavo Opalenik I am experimenting with using my S4 with a Numark TT200 turntable to the Channel D input. So far I can get the thru to work getting sound from the audio interface from the turntable but I have not been able to get channel D to work directly with the turntable. Any help with this would be appreciated. | |

Tatum Ansaldo 18.02.2011 | I'm assuming this is the same as TP, in which case you do as Karlos said and select deck D in the Input Routing section of prefs. Change the deck mode to Audio Thru or Live Input or w/e TPS4 calls it and you're away. |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 18.02.2011 | What..? You havent changed the INPUT routing on deck D in Preferences. |
Gustavo Opalenik 18.02.2011 | No that does nothing. I thought that as well but I guess it is only made for traktor scratch support?? Seem's though if it can have scratch support it should be able to play aux through one of the channels as well. |
Amos Gmeiner 18.02.2011 | Doesn't it work if you change through to USB? |

Leeanna Ayla 18.02.2011 | Yeah there was lots of talk about it being a four channel mixer. Unfortunately none of it ever came from NI. |
Gustavo Opalenik 18.02.2011 | Yeah tried that. I have got an audio signal out of the main but it is a direct thru, and I do not believe it is possible to direct the turntable into one channel ie channel D. Which is kinda lame seeing as that there was all this talk about the S4 being a 4 channel mixer built in with a midi controller. When in fact I believe it is just a midi controller. I would like to be able to have the sound feeding into a channel so I can utilize the crossfader and volume if nothing else. |
Leeanna Ayla 16.02.2011 | And make sure you switch it to phono on the back of the S4. |
Harley Hendzel 16.02.2011 | change the deck flavor to 'live input' in settings, under 'decks.' |
