Whats the best Traktor Remix Deck controller and why?
Whats the best Traktor Remix Deck controller and why? Posted on: 30.01.2013 by Lanelle Panarella I'm really wanting a controller for Traktor's Remix Decks but I'm really stuck between the F1 and the Midi Fighter Spectra. I would just like to have the most control possible over the remix decks and use them to there full potential . I currently have a S2 if that matters. Whats your take on which controller would be the best? | |

Leota Dolney 06.02.2013 | I have been having this debate over and over with myself as well. I have an F1 and while you can "technically" control 2 or even 4 remix decks with one F1, I REALLY don't like "soft-takeover". When I use the remix deck, it is for techno-style playing with lots of layered loops and I really want to be able to use 2 remix decks at the same time...that means controlling volume and filter etc. for each slot without having to switch between them. I like the idea of the MF Spectra, but the F1 has faders and knobs for each slot, so I see myself likely going for another F1. I have a MFC for more cue-point juggling etc...but honestly, I don't use it as much for that. |
Lanelle Panarella 30.01.2013 | I have purchased the F1 for now but I might still get the MF Spectra to control the other remix deck... best of both worlds I guess. Thanks guys |
Jetta Drenzek 30.01.2013 | Even when they open up full remix deck mapping functionality to the controller editor, the F1 will still be the best controller (in terms of efficiency) for the remix deck because they were designed in tandem, the yin and yang. However, get yourself a spectra for cue point juggling as well. You only need one to do both decks, and it's cheap for what you get! |
Nestor Epper 31.01.2013 | I agree with the rest. I would go for the F1. The midi fighter gives you versatility I believe and more use overall. But if your going for Just the remix deck functionality then the F1 is the way to go. It was made for them specifically. |
Mellisa Grecu 31.01.2013 | F1 no doubt, IT WAS MADE for the remix decks |

Lanelle Panarella 30.01.2013 | Thanks for all the responses. |
Ned Somerset 30.01.2013 | Technically an F1 would be the best. It was made in conjunction with the remix deck software. Yah the MFspectra is cool and all but "to have the most control possible over the remix decks and use them to there full potential" you will need an F1, or atleast until NI makes the Remix Decks midi mappable. |
Corie Murtagh 30.01.2013 | forget the f1 you don't need all that crap! midi fighter 3d all the way! |
Judi Sissel 30.01.2013 | F1- it's made for the remix decks.... If you really want to have full (volume, size, etc.) control then you are stuck with the F1 being your only option. Either that or wait till NI release the ability to map and fully support other controllers or does something with the Maschine series. |
Rose Schneeberg 30.01.2013 | F1 got more HID if i know right, but it's also more expensive |
