yep these are the best ones. I would also agree to start with the X-fader open and get used to scratching on tempo. Angello has some good ones.

Right now it's more wicker wicker-chair staaaaaaaaaaaale.

I watched the first three Dj Angelo videos and agree that they are spot on. I shall be watching a few more this evening. I haven't managed to get near the S4 yet with the phone ringing off the hook and my two year old going off the hook. I'm proper hookless.

[ame="http://www.zshare.net/audio/87352848062b9775/"]zSHARE - ahh1.mp3[/ame] These are 4 of my favorite samples. They're not set up like a typical battle record (i.e. one sample right after the other), but it's easy enough to bunch them together if you like it that way. I personally assign a cue point for each.

Take it for what its worth; the way I began to learn was by first getting a bunch of typical scratch samples and scratching on those w/ the x-fader left open. It kinda gets your hand used to the sensitivity (my spelling sucks) of the jogs or TT as well as getting used to what certain parts of a sample sound like at different speeds. I then worked my way to cutting the x-fader on my own, meaning not trying to emulate a particular scratch. My goal was to create something that sounded good and have the ability and control to repeat it. Once you feel like you have good hand co-ordination (spelling sux) , I worked on particular styles of scratches and so on. I'm no pro, but I am always practicing to get better.

BTW......I can share my scratch sample MP3 w/ you to get you started in the right direction

I'm definitely looking to conquer inner space....

As for setting out personal challenges, I hand't really considered that but I believe you are right. I do have my triple-boot laptop firing on all cylinders - just haven't gotten around to writing it up. This S4 stuff is really f*****g with my career as all of sudden, I don't want to work at all
