| Cristian Carmona 08.03.2011 | I would say that the sound card in the S4 is more like an Audio 8. Why? 2 stereo in's + mic (stereo?), 4 outs + headphone out + midi in/out. Heck maybe a Audio 6 with midi. |
| Addie Engbrecht 08.03.2011 | It's technically not either. They have said it's basically like an audio 4. The sound quality is said to be the same, I guess they both use the same chip set. Audio 4 has 2 stereo input channels and 2 stereo output channels. The S4 has 2 stereo inputs and 1 stereo output channel. The S4 also has a mic input and has the option of using either balanced TRS 1/4" main outs or RCA main outs, A4 doesn't have any balanced outputs. I believe these are the main differences between the 2. I'm not sure any of NI's soundcards are really going to work better than others w/ TP2. The newer A6 and A10 are obviously going to give you more input and output routing options, but whos to say wether or not they perform better considering neither the software or new soundcards are out yet. |
