Would you gig live w/ S4 -> Ableton via Jack OSX Posted on: 10.03.2011 by Keturah Nooney I've got a big gig coming up and am looking for stability opinions for an S4 routed into Ableton (for synths, some samples and effects) via Jack OSX. I've been testing pretty extensively this past month, and it SEEMS stable.Thoughts? Since this is probably the biggest show I've done, I'm leaning towards not risking it. Instead, just routing both Traktor and Ableton directly to the S4 out and loose some of the performance options. Thanks! | |

| Breana Singerman 10.03.2011 | I've been working on the same thing myself, expect I've been routing Ableton into Traktors C&D decks. One I dialed it in and got the latency issues worked out between the two I haven't had any issues with it since. I've done a few gigs with the set up and I've been rocking it a home as well and have been pushing it to see what it can handle and still solid like a rock. Totally up to you I'd say. If it's an essential part of your set you'd be a fool not to as that's what they are expecting from you I'd say. |

. -but- murphy's law is a bitch.. so have some sort of contingency plan that's quick and easy just incase. maybe run a second laptop and soundcard if you have one or can borrow one and sync the midi clocks? ableton 1 computer, S4 the other computer |
