issue with finding tracks in traktor?!

Hi all

I don't believe this has been asked before but I'm having a problem with traktor pro s4.

Basically I have 5,000 tracks and I'd say 25percent of them aren't showing up when I browse for them. The folder is there but there's nothing in them. When I open up Itunes, there they are. But they won't work with traktor..

anyone have any problems with this before? I believe there mp3s, they could be a different format but does that make a difference? thanks guys

I recently had the exact same problem. Right click on the folders, Import Collection and it didnt work. I tried erasing the collection file. Replacing everything, Re-analyzing.. nothing..

All you have to do is check the Import Music folders from Start up. Close Traktor.. then reopen Traktor and done deal.

Worked for me at least.

That would be the reason, they're protected.

Supported file types...

Do a Consistency Check.
Click on the Track Collection > Ctrl/Click > Check Consistency

This will show missing tracks. Then Relocate.

Also, make sure that the Search Bar is searching on ALL and not just ALBUM

i dont have much experience with Macs,
but make a note of the tracks that dont play or at least some and make sure they play in itunes and then try copy them over to an ipod and see if they play

they maybe copyright protected from your mates computer.

i know VDJ will play copyrighted songs but wont record them,
i dont believe traktor will even let you play tracks with the copyright protection.

i learned that the hard way after spending over 4 full days ripping some of my cd collection onto my PC harddrive, they all played fine but none of them would play in traktor or on any other device, the files were WMA but i couldnt convert to MP3 or anything else unless i re ripped the cds again due to the copyright protection thing needing the original sorce...
i wouldnt mind but i also spend AGES organising the tracks into folders with track names and artists as they had no tags

Find a missing track, manually, that isn't showing Traktor (forget the folder). Right click, properties and go to the details tab. That will tell you what format it is.

These formats have support in Traktor: MP3, WAV, AIFF, Audio-CD, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, non-DRM WMA (Windows only), non-DRM AAC

If format isn't the case you could try enabling the "import tracks on start up". Its in the options within the perferences menu in Traktor. This will automatically import the tracks at start up, given their there and are supported.

If your using itunes you could try: http://www.native-instruments.com/kn...iTunes+library

May also be a root directory issue, make sure that path is correct.

Could also be an updating bug (Libary wise). If all else failed, you could back up your .tsi (Its in your traktor directory) and collection.nml (Its in your documents folder). Uninstall, delete the current .nml. When you reinstall it should have to "find" all the tracks so it may catch them.

can you load them from the iTunes section in the traktor browser?

You probably copied the folder not the audio file.

majority are mp3

but I took a loan of my mates hard drive and copied a lot of music off that.

Hi

Yes I have...

for example say I browse for faithless, the folder is there, I click it, the music itself isn't, just the folder.

Have you imported the tracks into Traktor's collection?
